Post #21 ~ FBI reporting shooter ex wife knew plans and did nothing. ~

Wouldn’t/couldn’t that be considered as a criminal conspiracy?

Just asking.

For a guy who is famous for two words (wicked, Nomar) he was so close to getting it.

I don’t know what his politics are. The Tonight Show was a lot better when he was there.

TEXT:

As you certainly know by now, early Sunday morning there was another senseless shooting, this time at a dance club in Florida… a dance club… It left 49 people dead, which is the largest loss of life due to a terrorist attack on US soil since 9/11. I know everybody is angry and not knowing how to react, but this is when people are looking to us as a country and how we will react.

This country was built on the idea that we do not all agree on everything. That we are a tolerant, free nation that encourages debate, free thinking, believing – or not – in what you choose.

I, as a new father, am thinking, “What do I tell my kids?” What do I tell them about this? What can we learn from this? What if my kids are gay? What do I tell them? Maybe there is a lesson in all this - a lesson in tolerance.

We need to support each other’s differences and worry less about our own opinions. Get back to debate, and get away from believing or supporting the idea that if someone is not living the way you want them to live, you just buy a gun and kill them… bomb them up… That is not OK. We need get back to being brave enough to accept that we have different opinions, and that’s OK, because that is what America is built on. The idea that we can stand up and speak our minds and live our lives and not be punished for that… or mocked on the internet… or killed by someone you don’t know.

This was just one bad guy here. 49 good people and one bad buy. And there will always be more good than evil.

When I think of Orlando, I think of nothing but fun and joy and families. If anyone can do it, you can. Keep loving each other… keep respecting each other... and keep on dancing.

We’ll be right back.

Fallon is not a dunce.

He is not blundering about here.

This is a remarkable bit of writing. Obama wishes he had speechwriters this good.

It deflects from the obvious, and redirects to place the blame on the blameless.

It demands that we accept those with whom we disagree with only the barest suggesting that such consideration will be returned. It will be “PC for me, but not for thee”.

Now if Fallon is genuine in his protestations that all should be respected and that there should be an open and honest discussion amongst everyone of every opinion, then I support him. But I have no confidence that this will be the case.

Well said ‘Bone! The freakin’ Fallon kid is a liberal joke. To think that once there were the talents of Allen, Parr and Carson on late night TV.

You could be correct...or not. It's like the way we often refer to Obama or Hillary. We often say they're idiots who don't get it. The reality is (as Marco Rubio famously repeated) "they know exactly what they are doing". I have no doubt that Obama and Hillary are in the vanguard of a movement that is bent on destroying America.

Fallon strikes me as more of a "useful idiot". As in all communist regimes, the movement is driven by the commissars who want to grind the people down and make them serfs for the oligarchs. The top level tyrants do not believe in their heart of hearts that the tyrannical power they wield is for some common good. They just see a path to power. People like Fallon, and the Bernie supporters actually believe in their cause. That's why he sounded like a dunce to me. He was trying to look through the lens of political correctness and make sense out of something his feeble mind cannot comprehend (that muslims are evil and want to kill us).

If Obama or Hillary or Vallerie Jarret had made the remarks, I would agree with you. Coming from Fallon, it sounded like heartfelt puke-inducing foolishness.

However, I could be wrong, and Fallon could be a high-ranking officer in Obama's People's Republic.

Do you really think they would have handled this any differently? Do you think any of them would have launched into a screed about Islam? I understand that giving the same kind of sermon in response to very different events ignores the specific circumstances involved and can be off-putting to some, but if you're an entertainer, maybe the best you can do in a situation like this is to be soothing, not put your foot in your mouth, and maybe get people to think a little.

Seems pretty well-meaning to me. Heartfelt from a guy who’s not a politician, just a happy new dad who makes his living as a comedian and show host.

This call for free expression and togetherness will last about as long as the post-Tucson calls for “civility”.
