But no moment came. Right. Theres a reason for that. If you cant spare the time to watch the whole clip, skip to 3:20 below and watch from there until around 10:00. Hanna starts by talking about another gorilla-meets-child incident thats being revisited today, an encounter in 1996 in which a three-year-old fell into the gorilla pen at a Chicago zoo and was rescued by a female gorilla, who handed the child over to zookeepers. If that gorilla didnt hurt that child, critics are wondering, why didnt Harambe get the benefit of the doubt this week by Cincinnatis zookeepers? Ah, says Hanna, thats because the gorilla in Chicago was a female. Harambe was a silverback male. When an intruder enters the gorillas territory, the male asserts itself; having people shrieking at it from above while its confused would only further antagonize it. Hanna says the instant he saw the footage of an agitated Harambe yanking the kid roughly through the water by the foot, he knew it would have ended with the child dead had zookeepers not intervened. To give you a sense of the power the animal has, he notes that humans need a hatchet and a sledgehammer to generate the force needed to crack the shell of a green coconut. Male silverbacks can do it with their bare hands. Let that thought guide you in what lay in store for the kid.
At least one other animal expert disagrees that Harambe was a threat, but this logic is unconvincing....

Stay away from the zoo for sure.
Don’t want to see no Hildebeests.
How long was the video sequence?
(You know, the kid was affecting their lifestyle, postpartum abortion, whatever.)
there was not enough time. I am betting they killed the gorilla almost immediately when they were able....unfortunately there was no choice.
Other kids do stupid things while their parents are otherwise occupied. They have four children; I don't know if all of them were along.
Only because this one possible/probable lapse in parental attention resulted in such a bad outcome for an endangered and loved gorilla are people getting so hysterical over it. I was outraged at first, too, and glad I waited for more details.
I don't know if it is true but a pretty girl saw the kid going in (it's not clear whether climbing through the bars or over it, she tried to grab him, but he was just too quick.
post partum abortion???
With that kind of thinking the kid had best avoid the driveway at home...
“Leftists are racists. They are outraged that Harambe was shot and killed to save a black childs life.”
They knew the gorilla was going to vote Democrat before it was killed. Oops, sorry I forgot... It still will vote Democrat!!!
-——Has anyone brought up the question of whether these parents were TRYING to get rid of the kid, ie, make it look like an accident?——
I can think of a 100 different ways to off your kid than concocting a situation where they fall into a gorilla enclosure...
JMHO .....
Definitely! thanks
Maybe you should avoid all war memorials and museums.
Don’t need to see any pics of Hitlery either.
with all the nuts in our public life nowadays and on the streets, i am already hiding under my bed nearly 24/7....
ha!
I thought that Jack sounded rambling, super hyper like he was on speed, made my head spin. The father is a career criminal, and Lord knows why the parents were not watching the child better. He was talking about wanting to swim with the Gorilla, that was a warning they should have heeded. The zoo left an access door open. Can you imagine if this kid lives to be an adult, and is told what happened how he will feel? So many mistakes,so many idiots, the inmates are running the asylum.
There is no need to bet your life, Jack.
The gorilla had to be killed in order to make sure the baby wasn’t hurt.
It’s as simple as that, and there’s no point in even discussing that part of this any further.
What I do think should be discussed is making the animal enclosure 100% people proof. Yes, I mean to say that we need to find a way to make sure that this never happens again, because it is a shame that the gorilla had to die. None of this was his fault.
I am mostly angry with the mother, and I am also angry with the zoo for not having a better system of safeguards.
Anyone with kids know that sometimes...they get away.
There should have been absolutely no way the kid could have gotten in there. Too many deaths in these damn zoos.
But they make big bucks as breeding farms.
There was no choice. They had to kill the gorilla. If that gorilla had killed the child, they would have closed the zoo. We can’t have that.
Anyone see Trump’s Press Conference this morning?
A Reporter from Yahoo (no, not perky Katie) asked Trump about the Gorilla and implied the Kid was being protected. Trump just said that things could have changed in a split second and the Authorities probably did what needed to be done.
I’m waiting for Bernie, Hillary or Obama to get the same question, but they don’t do Press Conferences. Wonder why?
Harambe and the GorillaLivesMatter Movement that needs tranquilizing
