Rush Limbaugh today on his radio show looks ahead to what happens if Ted Cruz actually succeeds with his plan to wrestle the nomination away from Donald Trump on the 2nd or 3rd ballot of a contested Republican Convention. Rush said it will be like a “nuclear explosion” going off, and that “it will be the end of the Republican Party.” . . . .

After all these months of Rush backing Cruz and then saying this? WOW...Rush must have got the message: “You back anyone other than Trump, your finished”...

That’s how a candidate who gets <20% in swing state primaries wins them in November.
We have been saying that for months.
If there is a Brokered Convention and G.O.P pisses away it's momentum with Shenanigans, than they are going to Lose in November, even if Cruz is the Nominee.
Whoever it is going to be needs to win outright. Too Much Bad Blood would have been brewed in our own ranks for the Repub Nominee to win. (We control our own destiny, 2016 is ours to lose)
And The GOPe and Bosses are perfectly fine with a loss.
Why? Because what difference would it make? Hillary is Pres? oh no....They still have their Buffets, Their Crackers and Cheese and they get to go to Nine Rivers Country Club every Sunday, so shut up base.
I don’t think Trump’s side cares about the GOP and I don’t think Cruz’s side cares about the GOP. And the democrats certainly don’t care about the GOP. It looks like a vast majority does not care about the GOP.
May be it is time to let the chips fall where they may? No, but that would “destroy” the GOP. My bad.

If Cruz, Romney, Bush, Kasich, Rubio, Huckebee get the nomination and wins the general election it would be no different to the outcome of our nation.
The last four Presidents have been socialists, Bush II, doubled the size of government. The GOPe are all socialist NWO.
The end of the GOP that refused to impeach Traitorobama or anyone in his regime is a good thing! The GOP does not deserve to exist.
And if some real conservative political party is developed and cannot win elections, then the U.S. is finished anyway.
There are interesting thoughts to be had on the matter.
Destruction of the GOPe is not a bad thing, the leadership of the Republican Party are all corrupt.
Many times libetals attacked me over Bush, all I would say is beside abortion what difference is there between the two of them, not much.

I think overall Rush has been very fair to both candidates...
Rush simply doesn't buy into the Cruz vitriol Trumpsters are selling and it only seems like he is backing Cruz because he isn't singing your song...
Please show me anywhere that Rush has endorsed Cruz...
I know for a fact that Rush reads comments from FR, because I have heard him repeat (without credit) word word comments that I read on here.

Anything other than letting the people decide the candidate is signing the death warrant for the GOP.
And maybe we need to tear it down and start over. I mean, if the GOPe is so hell-bent on ignoring the base, this is a golden opportunity for a 3rd party run for Trump, founding a new conservative party OF the people, BY the people, and FOR the people.
I’m sickened by the GOPe. I’ve played nice and worked toward steering the Republican ship toward conservative values. But if the leadership is determined to ignore their constituency, not just for a year or two but over the course of decade and more, what other recourse do we have? If they ignore the will of the people during this Convention, that will be the last straw. Absolutely the last straw.
I was a Cruz supporter early and gave his campaign money, but he has jumped the shark.
The GOP is over whether Cruz wins or Trump wins.
The rift is too deep.
Hillary will be president (unless she is indicted, but laws are for little people).
The Senate will be lost, and the house weakened.
The SCOTUS will have another dyke on it.
Rush has definitely been reading the internet and listening to the Trump callers. I admire him for finally getting it. Rush is insulated by his wealth, but more especially by his deafness. He obviously has been paying attention this last week. I don’t expect him to back off Cruz but I think he finally gets US. At least, I hope so!
