The Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence has a new ad out, and it's incredibly disturbing.
In the new ad, a girl portraying Alice from the beloved childhood fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland" comes across a handgun and shoots herself in the face. An actor dressed in a white rabbit costume looks on in horror for added effect.
As the young girl shoots herself and creepy music plays, a narrator is heard saying, “Over one-third of all American households have a gun. Ask your neighbor: Is there a gun where they play? Asking saves kids.”

How about an ad where Alice is attacked by something sinister and she shoots it dead, saving herself and the rabbit?
If the ad were true, then over one-third of all American households should have at least one family member's face blown off.
It is so far out there that it is funny. I’m still laughing.
I think it should be rewritten as Alice confronts the Queen of Hearts and ventilates her with a .357 Colt Python.

First time I used guns was in Vegas last year. I’m embarrassed but it was a start. Used an m4, SCAR and Glock. It was GREAT. M4 incredible. Trying to get license in NY now.
Bought my niece the WHOLE package out in vegas. She gets the MP5, Glock, M4, M249, Tactical Shotgun.
It NEVER occurred to me “hey, I could rob people with this” or “If I ever got one i’ll leave it on the kitchen table fully loaded”.

Obviously Alice never saw the NRA produced “Eddie Eagle” video where kids are taught that when and if they come across a gun to “STOP, DO NOT TOUCH, LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELTY, TELL AN ADULT.”
Following that safety advice would have prevented harm to Alice. Of course, the Brady Gang disdains everything NRA.

It would have been more effective with an Obama campaign logo t-shirt on the girl.
Which happens every day in "gun free" zones like Chicago.
Then put up a phone number and encourage the listen to chew out the gun grabbers for not doing enough to save black people...(which must be because the gun grabbers are almost always Democrats, and therefore, historically, are racists.)
Eddie Eagle! That was the first thing I thought of. I should my kids that stuff on when they were little. Too bad it isn’t mandatory in schools.

The first time I took my kids out to get shooting instruction the instructor commented on their good trigger discipline.
Ingrained as well during movies “Okay - what’s wrong with this scene guys?”
“He has his finger on the trigger!”
(The older one would comment on them having their flashlight on the entire time as well!)
“Asking saves kids” . That could easily be an ad for birth control.
Here in NM, I can leave it on the kitchen table, just cuz I can.
