Mitt Romney about to enter GOP race

Mitt Romney is one step closer to entering the 2016 presidential race sources say, confirming what the-newshub.com reported last October that Romney would jump into the race after the first key primaries were held and some of the delegate dust had settled.

Romney told Fox News on Wednesday that “We have good reason to believe that there’s a bombshell in Donald Trump’s taxes,” and quickly added that Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio should also disclose their tax information. Romney’s statement was a bowshot aimed at Trump, sources say, the surprise GOP frontrunner for whom Romney has unmitigated disdain.

If the GOPe does this , the only logical conclusion that we can come to is that they are deliberately trying to implode the party to hand it to the DIMS ... surely the GOPe knows that robbing Trump will lead to a total meltdown of the party .. or perhaps they really are that clueless

Again...all or surely ALMOST all of the filing deadlines have PASSED. This can’t happen.

Yep. According to this from Larry Sabato, there are only a few states left. Most have passed the filing deadline.

If Romney's move is not BS, it should be BS.

Possible, but not likely, conclusion: Killary gets indicted and drops out, the Republican convention is contested and Romney becomes the candidate. The election is between Sanders and Romney. Actually, that's a joke because the RATS would come up with someone they feel is more electable than Sanders. Can you spell Biden?

yes.
Jeb sounded either stupid or left=wing, almost every time he opened his yaw.
it was really getting embarrassing listening to him.
a very poor front man for GOP-e or anybody for that matter.

Romney did not run a good race, he was far too gentlemanly, he had a ton of political ammo given the royal Phyqucing Obama had already given America for four long years....
and Romney still managed somehow to BLOW it! Amazing!

You would think that with billions of dineros at stake, the GOP-e could at least find better front men to run as candidates!?

And what is Romney going to do, come in second, maybe third.

Is the GOPe that delusional they think Romney will take it or do they plan to split the vote?

I really don't understand why the Cruzers wouldn't line up behind Romney, but I've read close to have the comments and this is not mentioned. When Cruz is out this coming Tuesday or by the Ides of March, wouldn't you happily go for Romney over Trump? Romney and Cruz are basically indistinguishable and stands for all the things Cruz stands for.

So Cruzers, tell us now: Romney or Trump. Which one would you support?

Romney might be able to be nominated on the convention floor and steal the nomination.

Kelly floats the idea of nominating from the floor of the convention in the video at the link.

If Cruzers believe Cruz can win the general election, I do not see any logical reason why they wouldn’t agree that Romney can win, and support Romney after Cruz drops out.

Wonder how the Koch’s and the other GOPe mega-donors made their fortunes wasting hundreds of millions of dollars like they have on Bush and now on Rubio and possible Romney in an 11th hour run?

By the time Trump beats Rubio in Florida, Trump will likely either have or very nearly have already secured the 1237 pledged delegates needed to secure the nomination and prevent any brokered convention or other possible GOPe trickery at the convention from happening. Won’t matter if Romney runs in the late primaries or not by that point.

More likely scenario is that the GOPe will try to get Romney or some other establishment hack to run as an independent third party candidate for the sole aim of defeating Trump in the general and handing Billary the Presidency.

They might even get a jilted, Trump hating Cruz to run 3rd party on the Constitution Party ticket with the sole intention of taking enough votes from Trump to secure his defeat in November.

The GOPe could care less about winning in November - they know that if Trump prevails in November, that he will clean out the RNC offices and appoint all new RNC officials, especially a new chairman. Them keeping their jobs is more important than saving the country.

They will find another strawman. The more I think about this the more I realize there is going to be a 3rd party candidate if Trump gets the nomination. GOPe like Romney do not give a flip about GOP protocol and will freelance if necessary. They’ll find some retired general or whoever and try to throw the election to the Hildabeast.

I don’t think it is a conspiracy theory. I think this is a plan the RNC and GOPe were floating.
