I just received the following email from "Ben Carson for President 2016":

I like Ben Carson, but he needs to get his own campaign under control and stop complaining about how unfair he’s being treated. he’s coming across as a toddler throwing a temper tantrum. He’s an intelligent guy, but he’s not smart enough to realize both Trump and Fox are using him right now. He couldn’t get on that program for months, now all of a sudden he’s on every one of em. And Trump was just trashing him in November, now all of a sudden Trump’s on his side? Come on Carson, stop with the sideshow already.
If a campaign thought a candidate was making moves (and the media hyped it - ????? - if it walks like a duck....) that looked like he was suspending his campaign, it would have been derelict of them NOT to use that information - ESPECIALLY as it was caucusing time.
It was dirty. But that’s politics. Cruz’s team was all too eager to spread the first report. But not so much with the follow up clarification, by Cruz’s own admission. That’s how politics works. The media is an enemy and that’s why they need to be fought tooth and nail.

Actually I agree, I’m not offended by the Cruz campaign’s retweeting as I am of this notion they are pure as the driven snow and did nothing by pass along what CNN reported. They embellished the CNN report to the advantage of their candidate and I think it’s disingenuous when they deny it.

Cruz's people never said Carson was "dropping out". They said he was taking a break from the campaign, or "suspending campaigning" and one person said to other Cruz workers that it LOOKED LIKE Carson was out. But no one ever said he WAS out.

not one phone call to the Carson campaign did the Cruz campaign make.. not one..
they took a story that said Carson was leaving to go to Florida(not leaving the race but going home to Florida) and then they changed the facts so they could have an excuse to try to steal the evangelical votes of Carson to Cruz.. they never had the decency to make a 30 second phone call to anybody in the Carson camp to verify the story.. they didn’t want to call because they wanted those votes more than they wanted their decency.. truly shameful

Sorry I have to disagree. The Cruz campaign twisted the story and used it. It was dishonest and Ted should fire some people unless he was in the middle of it. Then he should fire himself.
CNN wants us to believe they are innocent in all this - ‘BREAKING NEWS - BEN CARSON NEEDS NEW SOCKS’. Some people actually believe them...I have no idea why...
I do have an idea why. If you believe, honestly believe, that they ran a breaking news update to tell us about Ben’s socks, then Ted Cruz is slime...
It seems that a lot of people around here believe CNN...Or, want to slime Ted so bad that they only see what they want to see.
The problem is, it really isn’t CNN’s fault. It is Carson’s fault. He let it be known that no matter what happened in Iowa, he was going home to Florida. He was not heading to New Hampshire or South Carolina to campaign as is expected of any candidate serious about the nomination. His next appearance would be at a non-campaign event late in the week in Washington, DC. He is still not campaigning.
CNN’s reporting was accurate. The Rubio and Cruz campaigns were right to let caucus goers know that supporting Carson was really a waste. Carson should not have demanded an apology from Cruz. Carson should apologize to his supporters because he is not interested in campaigning.
every person who has dropped out of the race has used the words “suspending their campaign”.. that means your out.. you just proved our point.. those were Cruz’s people’s words not Carson’s
it’s just amazing to watch you people twist yourselves into pretzels defending this crap like the democrats are so famous at doing.. it’s like the Clinton’s defending themselves,, it’s sad people on our side can come out and defend that crap because they are so blinded by their loyalty.. it’s a sorry thing
