An explosion that blew a hole in a jetliner shortly after takeoff and left one man missing was believed to have been caused by a bomb, the pilot said Wednesday, describing how the crew calmed frightened passengers as smoke enveloped the cabin before he brought the plane back to Mogadishu's airport for an emergency landing.
Residents of Balad, a town 30 kilometers (about 18 miles) north of Mogadishu, found the body of a man who might have been blown out of the Airbus 321 in Tuesday's blast, said police officer Mohamed Hassan.

Looking at the pic, either it was a bomb, or they really need to cut back on the amount of beans they serve on the in-flight meals.

It wasn’t a BOMB, it was an emergency landing jet pack that he built himself!
They said the dude who went out the hole was actually first... on fire. That is to say, the suicide bomber caught fire and blew up... and out of the plane with a fizzling bomb. No one is saying this officially, but a Somali diplomat was on board as a target of al-Shabbab terrorists.
Matter of fact, the youtube you cited was filmed by the diplomat, the Somali Deputy Ambassador to the UN, Awale Kullane. The plane wasn’t real full and the guy was in the wrong location to really damage it, structurally. Dude sitting next to him hopefully got away in time.

I’m not sure a bomb that can put a hole about 14 sq. ft. in a plane is a ‘fizzle’.
They should have no trouble getting a sufficient DNA sample to match with the carcass on the ground...

Business as usual, Acme dynamite on every corner? That might explain why the passengers in the video recorded by Awalle ___ seem so calm after the blast, despite all the released O2 masks rippling in the breeze like something out of horror show. Crazy stuff.
