This may be a little out there, and I am the first to admit that it is late, and I am a little tired, so please be kind. I want to ask any other freepers if they have ever had real supernatural experiences. I ask because I have been subjected to dozens of them. I sometimes think that I am living in a caricature of this world. I want to know if any others have gone through this.
First off, my originating experiences (ie. experienced by me directly) are pretty lame. But there have been a bunch of them. They are mostly confined to virtually impossible acts (such as passing my hand over and hitting random keys of a computer keyboard and entering the correct 10 character security code, or transmitting thoughts directly into my intended audience- to hilarious results). However, I have been fated to know other people with, frankly, extraordinary abilities.
One was my first wife. Her grandmother (who practiced Santeria and kept chicken feet in a glass of water under the bed to ward off evil spirits) always said that all she wanted was to see (my wife) get married. She made a 3,000 mile bus trip, went to our wedding, and was dead less than 12 hours after the wedding. But that is not the weird part. The weird part was that at the moment of my wife's grandmother's death, my wife, who was 400 miles away, woke up from a dead sleep (our wedding night) and started screaming and sobbing and carrying on in a language I did not know. I calmed her as best I could, and told her I would phone home in the morning (it was the middle of the night).
I called my father the next morning, and he reluctantly told me that the grandmother had passed the night before at the exact time my new wife woke up and went crazy.
Fast forward 20 years. My now ex-first wife called me up out of the blue (I hadn't spoken to her in at least 5 years at that point) and told me that my mom had just passed. She told me of a vision of hope and joy, but I was baffled by it all. The next morning I received calls from relatives that my mom in fact had died just when the ex told me she had.I have had several other acquaintances who also have demonstrated extraordinary abilities. I really ought to write a book about all of them.
Here is my question: I cannot be the only person who has experienced phenomena like this. From resurrections to deer inhabited by the spirits of the departed to jokes that transcend humor, surely other people have seen these things. So, i am asking for your stories. That we live in a supernatural world is, to me, undeniable.
In my case, I have had several experiences that were very good and righteous. But how do I know?
1) I worked Tue/Thur evenings as a lifeguard at our HS. Every evening when I came home I made a circuit of my very small town to ensure nothing was going on. The circuit always took me by an old cemetery from the 1800s. At the time I drove a ford escort... it was white. one night Thursday the 13th with a full moon as I drove by the cemetery I hit a black cat. I know I hit the cat because the car lifted under me twice as the tires went over the cat. I Stopped to see if I could ID the cat and notify the owner - remember a very small town. No cat. I checked the road, curbs, and even went into the ditch opposite the cemetery to see if it had crawled in. I refused to cross the cemetery fence. No cat. I looked a good 20 minutes scared to death by the end.

If you want spooky, look at post #33.
I worked on the set of Ghost Adventures season 2...
Normally, nothing scares me. I was one of the the idiots who had to work the audio video wires from the truck to the cameras. Long work. Tons of stories which will take the entire thread.
besides your in VA and this happened in Indiana
Thank you.
I see you found it :)
The first time was at Thanksgiving dinner, over twenty years ago. My mom and dad, my oldest daughter, her husband, and my other two daughters were there. Right as I was looking up after saying grace, the voice said, "Enjoy this moment. It will never come again." My father died before the next Thanksgiving, and my daughter divorced her husband, got angry with her mother and me, and refuses to come over any more.
The second time was when I was watching the soldiers coming home from Desert Shield, the one when the first George Bush was president. While I watched the flags and yellow ribbons all over on tv, the same voice came into my head. It said, "This is America's last victory."
This thread is an interesting break from the Thrump v Cruz junk that is going on
I have had lots of dreams with minor things in them that make me notice the next day. Two of which were much more detailed and came true.
But probably once a week something stupid. The other night I had a dream of riding a bike and parking it but not having a lock to lock it up with. (I don’t ride a bike).
The next day I was in a classroom (first time in a year) with my daughter. Wrapped around the leg of a desk was a bike lock and cable. Goofy. I wonder if we don’t dream about thousands of things in a night, and then we see something that reminds us. But that happens to me often.
Doesn’t explain the detailed foretelling dreams.
I was telling my older brother about a re-occuring dream I had as a child, with the stairs flattening out and me falling back into the basement (where the monsters were). “Wow! My reoccuring nightmare was trying to climb a sand dune and always sliding down!” Weird!” He’s 14 years older than me.
I knew a guy that was a Christian and in the DIA. He had all sorts of crazy stories with the supernatural. I believed him too (still do!)
It sure is.
My older brother (mentioned earlier) had three or four MG’s - wrecked every one of them! Not sure if it involved the supernatural though!
Get a Bible, and read it. Google passages regarding the armor of God. Even if you are not a believer in Jesus Christ, His name has power over the Demons, and they are subject to Him. But what is most important is your eternal destiny. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I urge to do so. Renounce Satan, the Demonic, and ask God to break all that may bind you. Renounce the Occult, and all that goes with it. God is faithful. He is powerful. And the Demons tremble at His name. This is the only way to be free of them. There is no other way. If you do not free yourself, you are in great danger.
My family has had a number of paranormal experiences. A visitation from a deceased grandfather. Two of my sisters saw him one evening when my parents were at a party. The next day they told my mother, who was distressed about it. When she told my father, he looked at her a moment & then said he’d awakened from sleep to see ‘Dad’ at the foot of his bed, but he hadn’t intended to tell her about it. My mother was really grieving his death, & she thinks it was his way of saying, ‘Let go.’
My mother also had a series of premonitions as a young woman. She’d dream of some terrible event, like a child dying of suffocation in a refrigerator, or someone getting hit by a train. Within the week there would be the exact story in the local newspaper. This went on for 6 weeks or so then stopped, never to happen again.
I’ve only had one similar experience - I dreamed a friend (who had moved away & we only communicated on birthdays) - was in distress. There were a series of specific things in the dream, like her sister being adopted by another family. The dream was so vivid I called her. She was going through a bad time, parents talking about divorcing & her sister was staying with another family.
Unfortunately, I never dream the lotto numbers. Too bad.
Some things we call supernatural may be quite natural with a different spacetime coordinate system. There are several stories int he Bible which illustrate this. Daniel Chapter five, for instance, tells us there is indeed a different spacetime coordinate system no further away from us then the length of an arm. I would share a few incidents from personal experience, but the ridicule factor is not something I enjoy this late at night.
I see from your responses that I am not alone. Many Freepers have experienced supernatural responses. Thus I feel vindicated. But it is not MY vindication, but that of God. If we all mostly see the spiritual in life, what are we waiting for? Don’t look to the church, or the state, or the party: look to yourselves. That is where the answer lies. It is in us, all of us be it weaker or stronger, it is there. Saddle up! Let’s go get ‘em.
And using ‘then’ where I should type ‘than’ is worthy of ridicule of my tired old brain.
I did, once. In a dream, I saw my name going around on one of those LED chaser light promotional displays in a local bar & restaurant as winner of $144 million Powerball, followed by the winning numbers. The lottery had just come to NC, so I thought it was strange. Remembered it, though. Then, one weekend, I noticed that the payout was... $144 million. Thought about it for a while, then went and bought about $40.00 worth of tickets from various places near that bar & restaurant in the dream. Stayed up for the drawing. Got the first number on one ticket, then the second, then the third, man I was freaking out. But, that's as far as it went. I forget what the prize for that was, it paid for all the lottery tickets and then some, but not life changing.
“There are two times I believe God actually spoke to me. It was inside my head.”
My wife get’s those when she is in deep (and long) prayer about something. And it is God. It is never the answer she wanted - but it is always comforting.
The one was trying to make a choice between three new pastors for our church, and praying about “Which one is it God?”
The answer? “You’ll know.” !!!
Like I said - not the answer she was looking for - but very comforting!
I met a guy that lived in a shack out in the woods with all sorts of old cars and crap. He had a cat that he said was possessed - would get in all sorts of trouble. Finally one day he had had it - looked the cat straight in the eyes and and said “You do one more thing and I’m gonna’ shoot you dead!!”
The cat calmly walked under the old truck parked in the weeds 10 from his door and he never saw it again. Well - alive anyways. Days later he was getting something from under the truck, and there was that cat - dead.
I explained to him that some people think demons will possess an animal - as long as they have some sort of body to be in. Like Jesus casting them into the swine. “Maybe a fly buzzed by and the demon figured he should get out of the cat while he still could!”
Makes me think...what else do we not know ?
No your not the only one. We are very much alive in a physical world, but there is a spiritual dimension that merges with our physical world. I believe there are people who are sensitive and can sense that spiritual world.
I myself have numerous spiritual or paranormal experience that continues til this day.
1) I have had numerous encounters with Ghosts even those of my deceased parents. Thread would be too long if I posted every experience. Also not all ghosts are evil. Unfortunately, many Christians consider all ghosts are evil which is not so.
2) I have had experience with remote viewing. Something I learned that my father also had as a child. I would see a flash of an image as it occur. Like during the Mexico big Earthquake, we were unable to communicate with my dad’s family due to phone lines down. I told my father I can see everyone is ok, but I saw Uncle Agelino injured in the elevator. We later learned, that yep he was in the elevator and tossed around and broke his arm but he was ok.
3) Only this 1 time experience had shocked me - Telepathy. My father and I would ride together where he dropped me off to school and he would drive to his work about 40 miles from home. One morning, I was not sure if my father was working late. I remember having no thoughts, but I did begin to think how to ask him. So I thought in my mind, I will ask dad “Are you going to work late tonight?” He immediately turned to me and asked “What did you just asked me?”. I was stunned and couldn’t believe what just occur. I thought Telepathy was nothing but hogwash, but it isn’t. I also realize those who have near death experience use telepathy to communicate.
4) As a child, I would always leave my body and float above my house and the city I lived in. When I woke up, I would tell my mother that I had such fun and it was.
Your not alone!
