My family has had a number of paranormal experiences. A visitation from a deceased grandfather. Two of my sisters saw him one evening when my parents were at a party. The next day they told my mother, who was distressed about it. When she told my father, he looked at her a moment & then said he’d awakened from sleep to see ‘Dad’ at the foot of his bed, but he hadn’t intended to tell her about it. My mother was really grieving his death, & she thinks it was his way of saying, ‘Let go.’

My mother also had a series of premonitions as a young woman. She’d dream of some terrible event, like a child dying of suffocation in a refrigerator, or someone getting hit by a train. Within the week there would be the exact story in the local newspaper. This went on for 6 weeks or so then stopped, never to happen again.

I’ve only had one similar experience - I dreamed a friend (who had moved away & we only communicated on birthdays) - was in distress. There were a series of specific things in the dream, like her sister being adopted by another family. The dream was so vivid I called her. She was going through a bad time, parents talking about divorcing & her sister was staying with another family.

Unfortunately, I never dream the lotto numbers. Too bad.

I did, once. In a dream, I saw my name going around on one of those LED chaser light promotional displays in a local bar & restaurant as winner of $144 million Powerball, followed by the winning numbers. The lottery had just come to NC, so I thought it was strange. Remembered it, though. Then, one weekend, I noticed that the payout was... $144 million. Thought about it for a while, then went and bought about $40.00 worth of tickets from various places near that bar & restaurant in the dream. Stayed up for the drawing. Got the first number on one ticket, then the second, then the third, man I was freaking out. But, that's as far as it went. I forget what the prize for that was, it paid for all the lottery tickets and then some, but not life changing.
