In 2009, Glenn Beck was the king of the conservative movement, with record breaking audiences on his program on television on FOX, and a hit radio show. As it became clear that he was a bit of a âfringeâ lunatic, and a fake crier, people began to turn off FOX. The CEO of FOX and the marketing team, in an attempt to distance themselves from Beck, ended their relationship.
Now Beck is claiming he will not vote Trump, and his audience is shrinking rapidly.

Yes, there is something wrong with Glen Beck. He was always a little “different” as far as talk show hosts went, and his show on Fox tended to be a little too pedantic.
He’s certainly gone off the deep end of late, and this episode with Trump demonstrates a profound change into a new brand of crazy.
He should have just kept his mouth shut and let the primary election play itself out. Trump may win, or he may not. We shall see.
Since the GOPe front loaded the primaries to get their boy Bush III elected without a protracted fight. Further, all of the GOPe candidates are in single digits, Trump may have the nomination sewn up by April 1. Again, we shall see.
Uh, at what point did he topple Rush Limbaugh? The answer to that question is “never”. He never even came close.
I'm picking up a couple of Rush Revere books for my niece and nephew in about an hour.
Probably a flawed analogy, but Beck reminds me of Thomas Paine’s trajectory through life.
His public gatherings, Restoring Honor Rallies, the trip to Israel and the recent secretive rescue of Christians from the middle east are no fake or sham events.
Yeah, he get's goofy at times, maybe bi-polar even. But he is true to his heart and true to his word. How many can say that?
I used to watch him. It is not often you get to see someone slide off into insanity on TV. I was unable to,listen to his radio program. 2 guys talking and laughing or was it 3? Inside jokes I could not understand.
It angers me to know end when people attack the Tea Party as some racist white supremacy movement.
99% of all blacks, and in some precincts 110% of all blacks voted for OBama. 99% of blacks still support Obama. The Tea Party opposes Obama and a powerful federal government. You aren’t going to see many black people. And those that are seen as a member of the Tea Party are savagely attacked by fellow blacks.
Why no? It worked for Boner. At least he said it did.
Follow the $$$
Beck sold out to Amer. for Prosperity and Freedom works and endorses only Tea Party Express and calls the real grass root TP ‘racists’ for supporting Trump...TPE is run by lobbyists, all open border, amnesty hacks.
Beck was down on the border handing out goodies to invading Central Americans last summer, and Ted Cruz was with him! http://hotair.com/headlines/archives/2014/07/19/ted-cruz-joins-glenn-beck-for-soccer-balls-and-teddy-bears-event/
Dick Armey said FreedomWorks paid Beck $1 million to say nice things about the group to raise more cash http://www.thewire.com/politics/2013/01/dick-armey-sticks-his-freedomworks-payback-glenn-beck/60624/
I used to think that Beck’s TV show was can’t miss television, and frankly, it was. He was really providing insight and information that I could not get anywhere else.
I thought he began to break away form his audience with the Bundy Ranch situation and when he decided to give teddy bears and such to illegal aliens, and then he began taking phone calls from his audience who disagreed with him on that.
I also really can’t see how calling Tea party people who support Trump racists is going to help him at all.
A lot of people support Trump because they are utterly disgusted with the GOP. Personally, I realize Trump might be more liberal on some thing than I am. But I also realize that the GOP hates Trump, because he is outside of their control, so I am perfectly willing to ram Trump so far down their throats that they crap blond hair for 8 years.
Glenn seems to want to do more than just inform people, he seems to want to have people follow him, and speaking for myself, I’m not looking to follow him. At all.
“Going after the Tea Party people was a big, big mistake on his part.”
Who the heck does he think he was surrounded by in that Washington, DC gathering he put together several years ago?
What an idiot.
For my part, it’s sad to see this. I listened to Glenn Beck practically every day since he started on Philly talk radio back in the 2000s, on WPHT 1210am. I heard Daryl Worley’s “Have You Forgotten” played for the very first time, on his program.
He became a HUGE 2nd Amendment gun rights supporter during the course of his radio program - when NO ONE else, not even Rush, would bring it up, except as an aside now and then.
He was “one of us”, and informed a LOT of people about what the Left was doing. He reached and taught a lot of people, and brought folks to the Right. And that’s a good thing. His 9-12 project was an amazing event, and he brought our side together.
His book “The Real America” is still one of my favorites. That’s the Glenn Beck I remember.
Whatever happened to him, personally, to make him go where he is now, well, I don’t know.
I do know that its never a good thing to lose folks on our side - especially when they have - and have had - a huge voice and presence.
People change, people have tragedies or dramatic events in their lives that cause them to see things differently. Who knows what happened with him?
I wish him well, and hope he works out whatever he needs to work out, to get squared away.
That was the end of his radio show for me.
I only had the occasional opportunity to watch his Fox News show, and I didn't find it all that attention grabbing.
He's back on the radio locally, the station dumping Ingraham for him, as they dumped him for Ingraham years before.
Proof that moderating, apologizing, and hiring liberals, are not the path to increase audience share.
Is that from the 11 or 12 “insiders” that had to sneak into the Fox H/Q to meet with him? In a more serious note, he did some good work. fact is, there was a time when he and his crew were very entertaining.
“In 2009, Glenn Beck was the king of the conservative movement”
I somehow missed that coronation. Did it take place in a circus tent?
A regular Patrick Henry and George Washington all rolled into one. How could I have missed it?
I agree, his Fox show was excellent and he was getting pretty close to the truth of where we are. Then suddenly he complety wimped out. He had spoken before about being approached by, he said, Soros goons basically telling him that his life would be a lot easier if he got on the train. It always appeared to me that he took his ticket to ride, put the chalkboard away and convinced himself he could still do good as controlled opposition. But that is just my hunch.

Smarmy Dick Army... one of the original backstabbers of grassroots conservatives. I hope it paid well.
