[Snip]...I think it might be time to bring back the draft.
We have become a society of ungrateful, horrid little greedy, grabby whiners. Everybody wants something for nothing.
And it is most evident on our college campuses.
College students today are thin-skinned, navel-gazing crybabies so desperate to be victims they create elaborate hoaxes and whine over âmicro-aggressionsâ while they scamper to their safe spaces.
But itâs nothing that six weeks with a drill sergeant screaming in your face couldnât fix.

I believe Rep. Conyers brings-up a bill about this every year. Just climb on board with him.
Immigrants would be exempt.. Just another way to kill off conservative votes..
Include women, and it’s a deal.
Forcing young men into the army while these screaming tramps get to have the benefits of their protection, and the right to vote at the same time is not acceptable.
1) You’d have to draft women as well as men.
2) A volunteer force is inherently superior, so the quality of the military would go down.
3) We barely have the funds to field the personnel who currently volunteer. How do we pay for a big batch of conscripts?
It’s just an awful idea all around.
This guy must figure he is too old. Well, we could do it differently this time. ;-)
He does that to bring back the anti-draft protest from his early days in Congress. Never think that he is doing it to improve either the draftees or the country.
We have become a society of ungrateful, horrid little greedy, grabby whiners...and girly men.
Here’s a thought about citizen “responsibility.” Everyone who is able bodied should work for a living. No handouts from government, unless old or disabled.
Let’s get back in control first. Then we can insist that everyone owes some level of service to the nation. A lot of today’s spoiled brats would show up to vote against us just to prevent that little inconvenience from affecting their lives. If w leave ‘em alone now they won’t even bother to vote.
Maybe not the draft per se, but I wouldn’t mind seeing mandatory 8 weeks of basic, 8 weeks of advanced individual training followed by 12 weeks of blue collar industrial trades training of the recruits choice. If we did that, there would be no excuse for anyone, not disabled, not to be working instead of on welfare.
Terrible idea. The draft promotes dislike of the military, and we have enough of that already.
Does America Need A Foreign Legion?

Of course he isn't. Much like anyone else who proposes bringing back the draft.
With such as Obama as president and CiC, the armed forces requirement would be used to warp the minds that disn’t already get messed up in college. Mandatory reeducation camp, with built in compliance teeth.
In 1941, the draft was a great idea. We needed a LOT of warm bodies to throw into the breach to defeat a relentless and well-armed enemy on TWO fronts, and we had a surplus of men of the ages between 18 and 35 who had difficulty in finding decent employment. The draft dipped into this pool of the underemployed, and essentially extended a subsidy to many struggling families, as either the husbands or sons were given an assured cash flow (however small it was at the time) to give over to the support of their families. There was not much slack provided for young husbands with two or fewer children, who were not in an otherwise essential job at the time. Soon, only the “4F” (physically unfit) or those who could buy their way out of service were left on the home front, while the lives of the best and bravest were being squandered in assaults that were not as well planned or executed as they could have been, but the other side was equally as guilty of squandering of lives as well.
Just the fear of being drafted compelled a LOT of young men to enlist as “volunteers”, in the hopes they would be placed in some rear-echelon job where the enemy PROBABLY would not be shooting at you.
What did you do in the war, daddy?
What’s really needed are adults telling these precious snowflakes to get a large helping of stfu.
