The world consoles, commiserates with France in it's time of sorrow and tragedy, demonstrating its support, at least symbolically with Gallic-themed tokens of condolences in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.
Here is just one example, one of myriad items to show the terrorists that they can kill the French but can they create such pretty commemorative items on such short notice?
I don't recall seeing a single item like this in the aftermath of 9/11.
And no, I was not a cheese-eating, smelly Froggie yesterday unlike others who seem to have been a Frenchman, even if having to hold their nose, for a day.
Just cause it says so on the Internet doesn’t make it true.
I seem to remember quite a bit.
put down your drink and sober up. There was worldwide support
I remember that- it was touching. It’s on Youtube somewhere, there were spectators in tears.
You could have just typed in "worldwide support of us 9-11" on Google or some other search engine.
I remember that grace with the cows. How kind and thoughtful. People doing their best.
As has been pointed out the world EXCEPT for Muslims
and MEXICO offered support.
The Mexicans all decided to just come here instead.
You didn’t look. There was much the same and more after 9-11.
Youre both nuts. No comparison at all to a flag worn on a uniform and one deliberately placed on the ground and stood on.
I cried on that one.
The French, who can piss us off from time to time, stood by us when we were starting our Republic. For that reason, we should always have their backs. My grandfather helped to liberate France from the Nazis. So, our friends got hit this weekend. We should be backing them up now.

Perfectly stated
Wow, I’m still wiping my eyes.
Not so and please don’t make us whiners.
The support this country had after 9/11 was overwhelming.
Absolute nonsense, this post.
I can’t believe how much emotion *just remembering* the global outpouring of support and sympathy is bringing out in me. I’m almost in tears.
Time to break away from the computer and do something else for a few.
Where the hell were you? I compiled a notebook full of photos from all over the world showing solidarity with us after 9/11.
