Oprah doing a show on jihad could do enormous good. Instead, she did a show with an Islamic scholar who laughably claimed that jihad is merely a spiritual struggle.
Oprahâs single âteachable momentâ devastated the cause of truth and freedom. It is breathtaking.
Little in Islamic text and teachings speak to a âspiritual struggle.â Itâs all holy war. And that is exactly why hundreds of millions are waging war in the cause of jihad.
Oprah has taken a page from the media, academia and political elites who have all but declared war on the truth and scrubbed motive and ideology from jihad-related terror in accordance with the sharia (Islamic law).
Is there no one with a worldwide platform courageous enough to stand up in defense of freedom? Oprah could have made a real difference.
Oprah has a responsibility not to be a tool, not to be a stooge. Over the past 1,400 years up to today, hundreds of millions have been slaughtered in jihad wars, cultural annihilation and enslavement in the cause of Allah. Do a show on that, Oprah.
20% of blacks in Mauritania are slaves under Muslim rule. Do a show on that, Oprah. Slavery is sanctioned in Islamic text and teachings. Do a show on that, Oprah.
There have hundreds of jihad plots thwarted in America since 9/11 â do a show on that, Oprah.
Nothing in the Quran speaks to a âspiritual struggle.â Itâs all holy war.
Why doesnât Oprah have Robert Spencer or Ibn Warraq or Bat Yeâor? No, no balance, no elucidation, no truth. Endless Islamic propaganda while the threat increases and millions die.
âJihadâ is âmisunderstoodâ spiritual struggle, Muslim scholar tells Oprah,â by Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch, November 7, 2015
If jihad is simply a spiritual struggle, then why is there an entire chapter of the Qurâan entitled âBootyâ or âThe Spoils of Warâ (al-Anfal). What spoils ensue from a spiritual struggle? If jihad is simply a spiritual struggle, how is a Muslim supposed to make Jews and Christians âpay the jizya with willing submission and feel themselves subduedâ (Qurâan 9:29) spiritually? If jihad is simply a spiritual struggle, why are there thousands upon thousands of Muslims worldwide who have joined violent jihad groups? Why are there any violent jihad groups at all? Why is this misunderstanding of jihad so widespread?
ââJihadâ Is Simply âMisunderstoodâ, Claims Muslim Scholar During Segment On Oprah Winfreyâs âBeliefâ Series,â by Leah Marieann Klett, Gospel Herald, November 6, 2015:
Speaking during a segment on Oprah Winfreyâs controversial âBeliefâ series, an Islamic scholar claimed that jihad is one of the most misunderstood and misused concepts of the religion.
Varun Soni, the dean of Religious Life at the University of Southern California, spoke about Islam in the introductory video for the âBeliefâ segment, which aired on OWN last week, according to the Christian Post.
While âjihadâ is defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as âa holy war waged on behalf of Islam as a religious duty,â the scholar asserted that such an explanation of the word is actually far from accurate.
âOne of the most misunderstood concepts of Islam is âjihadâ, which many people interpret as âa holy war,ââ Soni contended.
âBut there is nothing holy about war,â he argued. âWhat âjihadâ actually represents is an internal struggle, the battle that is raging in our own heart. And all of our religious traditions talk about that internal struggle. In that respect, jihad is not just a Muslim idea but itâs a reality of the human condition.â
Oprahâs seven-part series explored religious and spiritual belief around the world, and was shot at 33 different locations worldwide, taking over three years to complete. Islam is the worldâs second-largest religion, with 1.5 billion followers worldwide. The media giant reportedly reached out to 100 faith leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Sikhism for an advanced screening of the series before it premiered.
âMuslims see themselves as coming to god with great humility,â Soni said in explaining his religion. âFor Muslims, submitting to god creates a radical sense of equality. The most sacred text for Muslims is the Quran, which most Muslims believe is the direct word of god, as revealed to the prophet Muhammadâ¦.
Hoax. Great quote though...
Hoax Slayer - the publication that dedicates its efforts to unmasking such hoaxes and other online threats - reveals that this is nothing more than a revamped version of an older scam which involved other Australian Prime Ministers.
In addition, part of the message represents the words of Barry Loudermilk, a US Air Force veteran and columnist. The article he wrote expressed his personal views on patriotism and immigration after the 9/11 incident and was meant for an American audience.
Stop Jihaad Now!
:-)
LOL. FReegards.
Somebody needs to educate Oprah on the Greater and Lesser Bullshits.
When did Oprah ever take on that sort of responsibility?
Dan Rather did not have to. Charlie Rose did not have to. Katie Couric did not have to. Why should Oprah have to?
If jihad is misunderstood someone ought to have clued in Mohammad to this fact.
"Religion of Peace," indeed!
Islam is an EVIL DEATH CULT!
ALL CIVILIZATIONS ARE AT RISK OF EXTERMINATION AS LONG AS THE TRUTH ABOUT ISLAM IS DENIED AND JIHADISTS ARE ALLOWED TO LIVE!
WAKE UP WORLD!
Yep - we just don’t have the ability to understand body bombs and headless torsos of folks who committed no crime....
And preserving Freedom requires books full of laws, TSA searches, sending troops to civil wars.
Up is down. War is Peace.
And we have always been at war with EastAsia.
hat tip Faith Freedom"After Muhammad died, the people who lived with him and knew his religion best immediately fell into war with each other.
Fatima, Muhammad's favorite daughter, survived the early years among the unbelievers at Mecca safe and sound, yet died of stress from the persecution of fellow Muslims only six months after her father died. She even miscarried Muhammad's grandchild after having her ribs broken by the man who became the second caliph.
Fatima's husband Ali, who was the second convert to Islam and was raised like a son to Muhammad, fought a civil war against an army raised by Aisha, Muhammad's favorite wife â and one whom he had said was a "perfect woman." 10,000 Muslims were killed in a single battle waged less than 25 years after Muhammad's death.
Three of the first four Muslim rulers (caliphs) were murdered. All of them were among Muhammad's closest companions.
The third caliph was killed by allies of the son of the first (who was murdered by the fifth caliph a few years later, then wrapped in the skin of a dead donkey and burned).
The fourth caliph (Ali) was stabbed to death after a bitter dispute with the fifth.
The fifth caliph went on to poison one of Muhammadâs two favorite grandsons. The other grandson was later beheaded by the sixth caliph.
Infighting and power struggles between Muhammad's family members, closest companions and their children only intensified with time.
Within 50 short years of Muhammad's death, even the Kaaba, which had stood for centuries under pagan religion, lay in ruins from internal Muslim war.
And that's just the fate of those within the house of Islam!"
We don’t “misunderstand” anything about jihad!
We only need to recognize the motivations of the terrorists.
Does this supposed moderate believe we’re supposed to ignore those motivations?
If there is a distinction to be made it would be between Islam and ISLAMISTS.
We are at war with the ISLAMISTS!!!!
Oprah doesn’t want the truth, she’s just helping her NWO bosses push their New Age agenda of universalism.
Palestinian Cleric: Muslims Who Die For Allah Get âAppetizing Vaginasâ In Paradiseâ¦.
You just can’t ‘MTS’ up. LOL
If “jihad” is misunderstood, then it is mainly misunderstood by 90% of the world’s Muslims.
There actually is a hadith in which in retreat from some lost battle Mohammed calls upon his followers to devote themselves to repentance and internal spiritual struggle, saying something to the effect that they are leaving the “lesser jihad” for the “greater jihad”. The problem is, essentially every fiqh (school of Islamic jurisprudence) regards this hadith a unreliable and discounts the sentiment expressed in it.
One word...
