Ben Carson now leading in NC, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin
The American Thinker ^ | October 6, 2015 | Ed Straker

.........[Ben Carson] is leading in North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Wisconsin, and Iowa. That's impressive. It's well-known that he's doing well with religious conservatives in Iowa, but now it looks as though he has appeal throughout the South and other Midwestern states.

[SNIP]

What can Trump do to rebound? He has tried casting doubt on Carson's religion. He has tried having plenty of book signings. In an interview recently he said he was going to replace Obamacare with "something much better." Who wouldn't want to vote for someone who is going to institute a "something much better" health care system? He also promises to "quickly and brutally cut the head off of ISIS." I'm for cutting the head off ISIS. Let the head-cutting begin!

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be enough for voters. His tax plan has higher rates than other tax plans, like Ted Cruz's flat tax.

I'm not a big Ben Carson fan. I don't think he has the experience to be an executive or the temperament to take on Hillary. Trump might be able to at least do the latter. So what can Trump do to improve his position in the polls?

1) Talk about the insanity of "transgenderism" - letting boys into girls' locker rooms.

2) Give more detail on his vague immigration plan of letting the "good ones" come back after they are deported. How many "good ones" are there? Millions?

3) Speak out about the need for voter ID to protect the integrity of the voting process.

4) Pledge to end birthright citizenship by executive order on the first day of his presidency.

5) Tell us what he would replace Obamacare with. I suspect he himself does not know.

What else do you think he can do to help himself?

Go back to the original point. The subject is Hillary vs. Trump. But on the subject of those states, here’s the comparison of how Carson and Trump fare vs. Hillary. No general election polling is recorded for Oklahoma and none for Carson vs. Hillary in Texas. But in the Texas poll, Trump only leads the Ubershrew by +2.

Florida, Carson vs. Clinton. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/fl/florida_carson_vs_clinton-5363.html

Most people around here are familiar with her OCD posting habits certain candidates in various elections. Apparently you are not.

And yes, I was completely serious when I said that she is responsible for the downfall of Scott Walker.

100.00% completely serious.

Now go mind your own business.

“And you believe he will do what you think he’s said he will do based on his past? Good luck with that.”

So instead of going with a candidate that is talking about doing EXACTLY what we want done, we should doubt him and go with a candidate that is saying they’ll implement amnesty and hope they change their mind 180 degrees and stick to it?

That would be insane.

The only 2 not talking amnesty are Jindal (not doing well in the polls) and Cruz (who isn’t talking at all about what he’ll do with the millions of illegals, which is suspicious in itself. So I need to ‘hope’ he’ll come around AND be willing to implement it?) I’ll stick with Trump, who is saying the right things right now.

“Everything will be so much better! I will have fabulous people working for me! Look at my poll numbers! Trust me, I will make everything so very much better, you won’t believe it!”

The saddest part is that there are supposed conservatives who fall for this pap. Repeatedly.

I don't deny that in SOME polls Carson leads vs. Clinton (so does Bush, and Rubio, and in many cases, much bigger leads than Carson if I recall). My point was that if your only criteria is to "beat Hillary," Trump has polls in plenty of states showing he can do that.

Next question?

The questions were yours, not mine. You asked about some states and I substantiated my point with information available. Unless you have any further questions, you’re dismissed.

"What should concern the Trumpettes is in most polls their Donald fares the worst vs. Hillary"

And what should concern the Trump bashers is that only Trump promises to enforce existing immigration laws. Not Cruz, not Bush, not Rubio and not Carson. Only Trump. Without enforcement of our laws we will very quickly lose the country to the Marxists in the uniparty. So if you like the USA as a Constitutional Republic then there is only candidate to vote for, Trump. All the rest work for the globalist ruling class. .

See, you can't handle the truth. You said it. I said "some states." I showed you the polls. Didn't like 'em, did ya?

You then backtracked to "averages" and I showed you that in averages you cannot show Trump is behind Carson except for a tiny fraction in RCP. Certainly not in GA, MA, TX, FL, etc.

You then sidestepped to say, "Well, other people like Carson are beating Hillary worse." I conceded that point and said, unfortunately for you, Rubio is doing even better than Carson, so that's hardly an argument Certainly NONE of this is an argument for Cruz, whom I suspect is your real candidate.

So, for the final time, it is irrelevant if OTHER people are "beating" Hillary more than Trump. All that matters is that a) he is winning the nomination as of now (according to the polls) and he CAN beat Hillary according to SOME polls. That is absolutely true. Now, you are dismissed.

Yes, it’s okay for me to jump on someone who relentlessly pushes GOPE candidates down the throats of people who do not want GOPE candidates.

Now go mind your own business, GOPER.

"And you believe he will do what you think he's said he will do based on his past? Good luck with that."

Well we know for a fact that all the others will implement what ever there globalist masters tell the to implement so at least with Trump there is hope. There's no hope with the rest of the candidates. And since Trump has made immigration the center piece of his campaign he would have a mandate to do what he says he'd do. So yes I believe he would in fact enforce existing immigration law.

I have a hard time accepting the polling data this time around. While “this time is different” was a derisive remark for several months by the MSM and pundits, they are now pushing “this time is nonsensical” polling results.

Carson is suddenly surging on the wave of excitement created by him (1) suspending his campaign to keep it separate from his book tour, (2) having numerous negative stories promulgated - some appearing to be legitimate, others not so much, and (3) some intangible consideration nobody appears close to even describing, much less defining.

This game was played on behalf of Fiorina, previously.

The lies are think in the polls this time around, I think. And that is dangerous. If nobody knows the truth, then no one can dispute the falsehoods.

You’re looking for an argument that isn’t there. You cited some states before you tried to shift the discussion to Trump vs. Carson. I showed you the evidence that .. as it stands now, Trump would have a difficult time defeating Hillary. If that dynamic shifts and it later appears he would stomp her into the ground, then great. My point of reference is as it stands now. It’s not a matter of not handling the truth, when the truth of what Trump faces if he comes up against Hillary is staring us all in the face.

I don’t speak for you.. but what I want is that woman defeated next year.

Yet Trump did what would profit him when he supported the Democratic Leadership nationally and locally. You want to manufacture someone that isn't there.

Yes, if he were a white guy, he would be where Santorum is.

He wants to get rid of Medicare...even for people now on it. That doesn't make any sense at all and it's not a one off/only crazy thing he has stated!

If, by some really horrible happenstance he's the nominee ( which I doubt ! ), he'll lose worse than Romney or McCain did!
