On September 17, Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) told an audience at a Harlem breakfast that New York’s surging gun violence was not his fault or proof of the failure of gun control, but was thefault of states “down south.”
Cuomo’s words came the day after his ex-aide Carey Gabay died from a gunshot wound he received when caught in the crossfire of gun violence.
Breitbart News previously reported there were at least four shootings and one stabbing during Brooklyn’s September 7 J’Ouvert festival. Gabay was shot in the head at that festival.
According to the New York Daily News, Cuomo told Harlem breakfast attendees, “The cruel irony here is that we passed the toughest gun control law in the country here in New York.” He was talking about the SAFE Act, which requires firearm registration, bans “assault rifles,” bans “high capacity” ammunition magazines, and expands background checks, all with the promise of reducing gun violence.
But it has not worked. In fact, gun violence in New York City is surging this year.
So Cuomo is blaming the South. “As long as you can get a gun from some state down south, put it in a trunk and drive it up, it’s gonna get into this state, and that’s what’s happening.”
The gunman, however, has not been apprehended nor the source of his gun ascertained. But this did not stop Cuomo from pushing more gun control, ........

It snowed five inches but power-mad Cuomo was actually threatening the citizenry with force---a misdemeanor and a fine for violating his travel ban....not over an actual storm, but the threat of a storm!
Gov Slowmo closed down roads---warning hard-working, law-abiding drivers who ventured out he would consider that to be a crime and levy a $300 fine.
This from a scumbag who calculatedly stopped the Moreland Commission from investigating government corruption.
Cuomo is on the loser fast-track....his tenure at HUD is infamous for his loony policies that precipitated the subprime meltdown.
New York - home of the Sullivan Act, a gun control act designed solely to protect criminals from their intended victims.

It’s hard to say who is the bigger idiot: NY’s goobernor or his brother the CNN loudmouth.
It’s true.
Because Southern states do not impose gun control laws on their citizens, violent criminals are forced to flee to high gun control states like New York where they can find a ready supply of unarmed victims.
Andrew needs to seal NY’s borders. Check every car and every person seeking to enter NY. Any car with Southern license plates is automatically turned away (not that any true Southerner would have any desire whatsoever to go to Noo Yawk).
Cuomo should turn NY isolationist.
The rest of the country would be quite happy with that.

Ah, Louisiana. My ancestral home. I lived there many years before my job brought me north to Illinois, which, if you excise Chicago and Cook County is a pretty good place to live. Yeah, we have our problems up here, but we are working on that. Still, I’m a Southerner at heart, and always will be.
NY gets a few guns from a place that has thousands upon thousands of guns...
NY, with relatively few guns, has gun crime through the roof...
The South, with very high gun ownership rates does not...
