Aaron and Melissa Klein ordered not to talk publicly about their faith.
I dont know if youve followed the case of Sweet Cakes by Melissa. This is the now-closed bakery in Oregon that has become a target of state officials because its Christian owners declined to bake a cake for a lesbian wedding.
Not only has the business been forced to close, the state has fined the Kleins $135,000. But it gets worse. Much worse. Now that state has responded to a radio interview the Kleins gave by ordering them to no longer talk publicly about why their faith compels them to decline such business.
Weve been telling you for some time now that this gay wedding business is little more than a cover for Fascism. Some of you thought that was way overblown. Can you still doubt it after this?
In the ruling, Avakian placed an effective gag order on the Kleins, ordering them to cease and desist from speaking publicly about not wanting to bake cakes for same-sex weddings based on their Christian beliefs.

Sue the bastards . . all of them
How is this NOT a violation of their civil rights under color of law?
This judge needs to be put behind bars.
The other side has a gag order, too, right? Right?!
I don’t think fleeing to Canada would help any. They are very homo-friendly, anti-free speech, anti-Christian. They use a “human rights commission” to keep Christians in line.
Do they have an attorney?
Freedom of speech, huh?
Even in plaintiff friendly states, there must be a reasonable relationship between the injuries incurred and the monetary award. How would these two lesbos have been damaged to the tune of $135,000? The cake was probably $300-500. Their dyke tantrums were another $37 to $173 each. The State of Oregone has doubled down and gone full retard......,.waiting for the picture...........
I’ve come to the conclusion that the gay agenda will only stop where the shooting begins. They, like all bullies, will back down when they finally get hit in the mouth.
You are absolutely correct that it’s just a cover for fascism. Any person who wants to set out on a crusade to oppress Christians only needs to join their nearest “pride” group.
I’m hearing that there are actually a lot of people in the gay activists community who are in fact not gay at all. They are only there as a subterfuge.
Promoting gay rights is just the sharpest and most effective stick to attack us with.
It’s profoundly important that we understand who the enemy is if we are going to have any chance at all.
Also, that Oregon couple should consider getting the hell out of that state.
Calling Jay Sekulow! I have a feeling his organization could help them out.
This cannot be happening in America.
The state doesn’t have that power. What is next, they are forbidden to go to church and practice their faith in public? Talk about a bigoted Nazi state.
We need to have ALL of the prospective Republican candidates weigh in on this.
My question as well. In the "John Doe" case in Wisconsin and elsewhere, gag orders have been used to cover up outrages by out-of-control government agencies.
Clearly prior restraint of free speech, and clearly unconstitutional. If there is no severability, the whole thing could [and should] be tossed on the basis of this provision alone.
Effectively, it means any Oregonian FReeper who posts, "I wouldn't have served them either," is violating the law. Or if the bishop of the archdiocese of Portland simply reiterates the Catholic Church's position on homosexual "marriage" that's also in violation of the statute.
So the law was a fascist limitation on the First Amendment in every sense from its inception.
I hope the bakers get more than 135k when they sue the state.
I would ignore the order and go to jail.
Avakian needs to be paid a visit.
This is such BS! Why isn’t a religious institution supporting them? Say the Catholic Church? How can we support them and beat back this tyranny?
I’d not only sue the judge and the state, I’d sue the homos who dragged me into a situation that caused me to be persecuted by the state. And, I’d sue them for exactly 135 thousand dollars and donate it to the Heritage Foundation publicly just to watch them melt down.
Here is what these people and others like them need to do:
They are a bakery. They bake and frost cakes.
They need to tell their customers they are a bakery, that’s all they do. If their customers want decorations, they need to consult a cake decorator.
Simple. Done.
