And he's pretty darn good too.
Confession: Im generally not a fan of these candidate-attempts-comedy bits, not only because theyre usually terrible but because I get a little tired of politicians trying to appeal to people on the basis of things that are irrelevant to the office theyre seeking. I really dont care if I ever see Jeb Bush slow-jam the news on Jimmy Fallon, and needless to say Id rather boil my skin in acid than see Hillary Clinton attempt to be funny in any way whatsoever.
But dang. This is pretty good:
Its still no reason to vote for (or against) him, but maybe theres a tiny bit of relevance insofar as the left would have you believe Cruz is this fire-breathing ball of hate who wants to ruin life for everyone. Come on. No one that horrible could have this much fun and be this genuinely self-effacing. And hes pretty darn good too. I thought the Ned Flanders bit was probably the best of the lot, but even Homer he nailed pretty nicely.

They aren’t good impressions but it is nice to see a candidate with a sense of humor that isn’t based on being nasty to someone else.
Nixon did a quick cameo on Laugh In in 1968 ... “Sock it to me???” IIRC it was just after the Democrats had their infamous convention in Chicago and it was so weird and out of character that it was memorable.
Man I just like the guy. He wasn’t stiff or wooden either, he seems to be pretty natural at this kind of thing. Its kinda like he “gets it”, just goofy enough to be human, but not fake. I really believe that he watches “The Simpsons”
I will never forget that episode, nor how surprised I was.
Sigh.... the good old days, when Ruth Buzzi was on the TV and not the Supreme Court.
Say good night, Dick.
At the end of the article the author wonders about Ted auditioning for Twin Peaks characters. I can see him as Dale Cooper big time.
Damn fine cherry pie.
Lol, don’t forget the coffee.
I LOVE HIM!!!! Waiting for the supremes to green light polyandry so I can ask Ted Cruz to marry me!
Taking on pop culture is what killed the Simpsons. I like Cruz, but as soon as The Simpsons started having guests the show fell to trash.
