Senseless head-butting needs to give way to sensible brain-storming
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called on America to end its attempt to remove Syrias President Assad from power in return for Russias co-operation to militarily confront Islamic State.
Lavrov reportedly told Bloomberg on 2 June 2015 :
The U.S.s obsession with [Syrias President] Assad isnt helping in the common fight against the threat from Islamic State
People put the fate of one person whom they hate above the fight against terrorism. Islamic State can go very far unless stopped, and air strikes alone are not going to do the trick
If people continue to acquiesce with what is going on and continue to acquiesce with those who categorically refuse to start the political process until Bashar Assad disappears, then Im not very optimistic for the future of this region
America is part of the Friends of Syria core group known as the London Eleven that has been assisting rebel forces in Syria attempting to overthrow Assad.

Russia’s first move military intervention in Syria??
I’m inclined to side with Russia on this one, but I admit that I don’t have all the data necessary to make a qualified decision.
However, I would try to work with Russia to gain assurances that Assad won’t move on Israel or work to compromise Israel’s standing in the area.
Assad is no threat to us.I’d have to go along with Russia on this. Just my 2 cents.

Odd that they would put the harsh word “capitulation” in the title. I’d think “change course” would be more appropriate here. Does the author have a hidden agenda?
They better not count on Obama.
It seems like Assad is more of a problem for Saudi Arabia which has, by default, made him a problem for us due to the long and complex relationship between America and Saudi Arabia. There’s also an Iranian and Russian aspect which further complicates matters. Ultimately, however, it’s really all about the relationship between oil and US dollars and America will do whatever America has to do to protect that relationship.
We wont capitulate! We will continue to do everything Saudi Arabia tells us to,,, hey, wait,,,

Can't really disagree.
Anyone willing to work with Russia, Iran, Hezbollah, and allows North Korea to build a nuclear facility in their country qualifies as a threat in my book.
The U.S.s obsession with [Syrias President] Assad isnt helping in the common fight against the threat from Islamic State
Now there's some common ground we could work together on.
I never in anyway said anything close to supporting that. We know Assad cooperated with North Korea to have the nuclear facility built. He’s a puppet of Iran and allows Hezbollah to operate within his borders. We now have the benefit of historical hindsight. Given the close ties, it’s pretty apparent that Syria, not Iraq, was the third portion of the Axis of Evil.
We need to stop arming ALL THESE ISLAMIC ASSHOLES!
OK. How does that address anything I said?
Lavrov is correct...the US should be coordinating its bombing efforts against ISIS with the Syrian government as well as the Kurdish and Iraqi forces.
I think Obama's beef with Assad is that he didn't do enough to hurt Israel. That's the same beef Obama had with Mubarak as well as Gaddafi.
Putin knows that Obama won’t change his position, so it’s probably posturing for the anti-Mohammedans at home.
I’d like to believe that they’re sincere. President Cruz would probably take up their offer.
Perhaps if the Russians moved all of their “volunteers” from Ukraine to Syria, we could take them a bit more seriously about fighting terrorism.
