I’m inclined to side with Russia on this one, but I admit that I don’t have all the data necessary to make a qualified decision.
However, I would try to work with Russia to gain assurances that Assad won’t move on Israel or work to compromise Israel’s standing in the area.

However, I would try to work with Russia to gain assurances that Assad wont move on Israel or work to compromise Israels standing in the area. I think Obama's beef with Assad is that he didn't do enough to hurt Israel. That's the same beef Obama had with Mubarak as well as Gaddafi.
