It was a while ago that our Attorney General, the one and only Eric Holder, claimed that our country was a bunch of cowards for not wanting to discuss issues of race. I am willing to discuss them. And contrary to the opinion of race baiters and progressive, grievance mongers, I wont bow to the narrative they have developed over the past seven years.
Most Americans believe race relations in this country are bad and deteriorating. In my lifetime I have not had any difficulty with someone of another race. Perhaps that is because I was in the military for 20 years, an organization in which progress is generally based on merit rather than skin color or, increasingly, gender. To the Obama Administration, a conversation on race means listen to what we say and kneel down to the altar of racial concepts which bear no resemblance to reality.
But I believe a conversation is possible; an exchange of ideas without confrontation and without blustery, meaningless rhetoric. Some points must be made:
First of all, stop with the victimhood. Every time I hear a Black whine about Whitey keeping him down, my question is, how? What have you done for yourself, what has your community done? I know many blacks, again while in the military, that joined because the community they lived in would pull them back every time they tried to get out. I can understand that as a hindrance. When even family and friends ridicule you because you want to do better, call you an Uncle Tom and put as many impediments in your way as possible, it becomes more difficult to get out.
Also, the Obama Administration has shown a disregard for black families in America and a total lack of empathy for young blacks who...

Maybe when people like Soros, al Sharpton and bambaboy and his muslim buddies quit paying the simpletons to riot....
Each other?
LOL
What percentage of Blacks are inner-city ghetto rats?
There must be some decent rural/suburban people out there.
Not anytime soon because of them is convinced that the other is the reason why it’s killing each other.
There really is not a lot of precedent for racial mixing without violence.
Possible. But we all know at somempoint one particular race will get up, start throwing chairs and stuff, and threatening the other races.
We all know who that’s going to be.
I would think that Obama, Holder, Sharpton and the rest of the race pimps have made life pretty uncomfortable for honest and self determined black people - especially, conservative ones.
Liberals are always going on about finding the "root cause" of social problems. Liberalism is the real root cause of all the problems plaguing America.
One sided conversations are not conducive to much understanding.
Besides what is the goal here? Multiculturalism? Wanting to get along somehow is one thing but insisting we destroy cultures and people to achieve it is quite another.
Not as long as one race works and pays the bills while the other race, sucks it all up and demands more.
At the end he said “both sides”. I do not see two sides. I see one side that is a very loud cult of victimology. Every one else wakes up goes to work and tries their best to take care of their families and generally don’t have any time left over to oppress people
There is. A retired black couple lives across the street from me. A black family lived next to me before I moved here.
It's not a racial issue, it's a cultural issue. However, there is so much overlap that race is commonly used as a proxy for culture.
The problem is that BECAUSE race can be used as a proxy, too many people automatically assume that it's a racial issue.
The masses of the races will but the instigators need to be drawn and quartered.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. I wish I could be more positive, but I don't see any long term solution to this problem.
I’m not a coward. How’s this for dialog: Bell Curve. Segregation. Avoid the Groid.
There ya go Holder.
No, not ever in any meaningful way.
Has this ever really occurred at any time in recorded history?
Why do you think this? Can you cite historical or current examples for racially (or even tribally) mixed populations living at peace with each other in the same lands?
There wasn’t much to sit down over before obamy.
I read a great letter to the editor of a local paper years ago. I would give credit to the author if I remembered who it was. He didn’t invent the phrase but it was the first application of the phrase that I’ve ever seen.
IT WILL NEVER GET WELL IF YOU PICK IT.
When we stop seeing race there will stop being racism. We’re all Americans. The left won’t let it go because it keeps otherwise conservative people voting Democrat out of fear and, sadly, desire for favoritism. The right is defensive and protective (of the the money and earned opportunity being swiped from them).
The left treats blacks like they are the Special Olympics. They act like they are disabled and must have a handicap benefit. I would feel insulted if I were them. Greed and envy come into play, which is not unique to blacks but they are seizing the opportunity handed to them by liberals. As long as that is the game plan of the left, racism will thrive and bitterness will deepen.
The left fears a cure. They depend on race bitterness to turn out the vote.
