And that's just the start; getting approval to bomb a target can take hours
Youd think it would represent a major blow to ISIS if you could take out its headquarters - and apparently U.S. forces know exactly where ISIS headquarters is located. Specifically were talking about seven buildings in Raqqa, Syria. Furthermore, youd think that if you had a shot at thousands of ISIS terrorists - the very ones who just took Ramadi and were running around in the open flaunting it - youd take them out.
Youd think that, but youd be wrong, at least according to the Obama Administrations best friends at the New York Times:
American and allied warplanes are equipped with the most precise aerial arsenal ever fielded. But American officials say they are not striking significant and obvious Islamic State targets out of fear that the attacks will accidentally kill civilians. Killing such innocents could hand the militants a major propaganda coup and alienate both the local Sunni tribesmen, whose support is critical to ousting the militants, and Sunni Arab countries that are part of the American-led coalition.

While "non-violent" they are NOT disconnected in sympathy, support and excuses. They already are lit fuses. They're just long fuses.
Another stand down order from The Obama.
So Obama is following the Johnson model on how to conduct a bombing campaign. And we know how that turned out.
Give them “space to destroy.” Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Honestly, there are only terrorists or victims in and around those buildings. Bring them peace.
“They already are lit fuses. They’re just long fuses.”
Yes, so the choice is to light them all now and fight a battle on every street. OR wait until the new generations are exposed enough to Western culture to calm down on their own
You have to remember that in places where they are most fanatical, these people have had no exposure to other cultures for generations. Entire nations essentially became cults with no freedom.
Now you have kids able to see any book, magazine, show or movie ever created on a $20 pocket device. Instead of having only the Quran to study, they can see everything. The internet has completely changed the hold on information and the children of all these fanatics are now questioning everything!
Obama won’t attack until after Syria falls.
I would want to hope “they would calm down on their own.” But that is something I think that history has shown not possible with Islam.
Yes, technology and the internet can certainly pass on knowledge not contained in the Qur’an. But you also know that the internet can be a boon to both sides of the political spectrum and all manner in between. You only need go looking on the ISIS fighter web pages and social for that.
Media has been shaping and molding ideologies (mostly leftist) for decades. As print and broadcast media are dying out, others take their place in the internet. Still molding and still shaping with lies too busy to seek out the elusive truth.
I hope you’re right, really. But they’ll never give up on destroying Israel, and they won’t lose their zeal to convert the entire world to their religion.
Two words “Concrete Bombs”.
I was thinking 'Mk 74's. Concrete bombs no good for personnel unless you hit them with it. I doubt that at this time there are any but ISIS or sympathizers in that town. Maybe their slaves, who might appreciate getting killed right now in a fast way.
All the same things you said about Islam were said about the Japanese for hundreds, if not thousands of years.
They were isolated fanatics ready to conquer and die for the emperor. And treat their conquests as chattel.
2 generations of cultural exposure and they were completely changed!
And what did it take to bring the Japanese to their senses? It certainly wasn’t social media and the internet.
Not sure whether we're kidding about this or not...
He won’t do anything even then.
Social media didn’t exist back then. All they knew of us were the leaflets we dropped from planes.
Yes, we fought them and dropped bombs to expose them to our culture. My point is that it was the culture that REALLY changed them. Not fear of bombs. We no longer need to do that with media passing information through every boundary. Even without a network, entire libraries can fit in a tiny cheap SD card. Amazing!
IMO, the huge recent surge in Islamic violence has much to do with the “old timers” terrified of their children going online and seeing how western people live. Especially the girls!
Women seeing what it is like to not be treated like cattle will be one of the main tipping points. Fundamentalist Islam cannot survive extreme patriarchal polygamy
*survive WITHOUT extreme patriarchal polygamy
The were pushed out of the imperialistic age by August 6 and 9, 1945. It was only due to these events they even got to a point where the potentials of modern society could benefit them.
Re: old timers and those ‘open’ new children. I invite you to Google for images of child terrorists. Lastly, you can never account for the level of brainwashing, transference, displacement, dogma and collective indoctrination that religion brings. It is by its nature secretive, ulterior and final in its goals.
I’m done here. We differ and that’s okay, but I’m not going to banter back and forth about it any more.
“The were pushed out of the imperialistic age by August 6 and 9, 1945. It was only due to these events they even got to a point where the potentials of modern society could benefit them.”
Yes, that was the first day that information could flow into that nation. It took war and nuclear weapons to open the door back then. Today it is no longer necessary.
Military lets you get into a nation, but it doesn’t allow you to change it on its own. IF our culture was as terrible as they were brainwashed to believe and we forced them to obey, they would still be resisting us to this day!
They naturally saw it was better once the curtain was lifted and transitioned on their own!
“Lastly, you can never account for the level of brainwashing, transference, displacement, dogma and collective indoctrination that religion brings. It is by its nature secretive, ulterior and final in its goals.”
These things can only survive in near total darkness and isolation. Once light begins to seep into a cult, it falls apart very quickly.
As far as all the kid terrorists- yes, children listen to parents at a young age but eventually human nature is to ALWAYS rebel. Their teenagers are sitting in sheds and basements RIGHT NOW seeing a different way under the noses of their parents. Something like that was not possible at all just 20 years ago.
My prediction: If information is simply allowed to flow, the cults of Islam and North Korea will be no more within 20 years. With zero military intervention. There will still be plenty of political battles/cycles all over the globe but such isolated evil death-cults can no longer exist.
Supposedly they’re real good for taking out buildings without a big boom. I know they used some in Iraq.
