Ra'anana, Israel --- April 18, 2015 ... No, the Jews are not running to Pontius Pilate and the Romans have no crucifixions scheduled for this weekend.
But someone forgot to fax the Jehovah's Witnesses that Jews do not live in Israel to become converts to Christianity.
Ra'anana residents, municipal officials, a city Chief Rabbi and the Yad L'Achim anti-assimilation organization coordinated efforts to cancel a Jehovah's Witnesses baptism ceremony today.
This is the second time that Yad L'Achim has succeeded in heading off the same baptism-of-Jews ceremony. It was first scheduled to be held in the city of Holon, just south of Tel Aviv two months ago.
The activist organization received word of the planned event, which was to be held in the city's Yad LeBanim building erected in memory of fallen IDF soldiers.
City officials were contacted, and the baptism was called off.
However, the Jehovah's Witnesses missionary group found a new site for the ceremony: the MetroWest Sports Center of Raanana, between Tel Aviv and Netanya.
Once again, Yad L'Achim went into action, contacting hundreds of city residents and asking them to do what they could to have the ceremony canceled.
Raanana's Chief Rabbi Yitzchak Peretz and several City Council officials were also made known of the event and the local residents' efforts to stop it.
Finally, on Wednesday, the city council members of the United Religious List of Raanana drafted a clear ultimatum to Ra'anana Mayor Ze'ev Bielski: "If the ceremony is held, we quit the city government coalition."
The party also threatened to take other action, such as organizing a protest and taking the case to the courts.
The next day, with fewer than 48 hours before the baptism, Mayor Bielski announced that the ceremony would not be held. A special protest prayer service was to have been held outside the Sports Center if the baptism had not been called off.
Yad L'Achim also notes the inter-city cooperation in this success: Deputy Mayor Rabbi Chaim Steiner of the city of Kiryat Malachi, a personal friend of Raanana's mayor, called him personally and pleaded with him to prevent the anti-Jewish ceremony.
Jehovah's Witnesses actions were also particularly offensive given that the Jewish nation had just finished observing International Holocaust Memorial Day.
Relations betweens Jews and Christians have never been warmer. We are the Infidels of a global conquest waged by Islamic Jihad. But please, let us respect one another's religion without trying to convert one another.
Israel may practice freedom of religion, but please respect the ancient and sacred Jewish values for which we Jews embrace. Israel allows individuals to practice their own religion but there are laws that specifically prohibit proselytizing.
And after all, we don't go around telling you not to eat pork or attempting to behead you.
Want to convert someone?
Go to Syria, Sudan, Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia or Iraq - not Israel.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians.
bump
Right. And then, the early Christians were Jews.
Jehovah’s Witnesses are not Christians, and becoming a Christian is a good thing, not bad.
The JWs should try converting Muzzies. Makes for a really exciting time!
Jehovah Witnesses believe that you get your salvation through works. That’s not Christian.
What ever happened to people being able to make their own decisions?
And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem
a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced,
they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child,
and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn." - Zechariah 19:37
Where they will tell you not to eat pork right before they behead you.
Real Christians follow the orders of God.
What exactly are you afraid of?

Just seems weird that someone would call for the townspeople to turn out to stop someone thinking about something in a different way. Weird and worrying.
It’s hard to convert Christians to Christians.
My SBC sends a team over there every year and are welcomed wih opened arms. A few yers ago, they were invited to one of their synagogues that very few non- Jews are invited to. Everyone enjoys going there. We have a wonderful missions minister.
JW have a warped form of Christianity at best (and might just be carrying out a Christless ritual focused on themselves and how good they supposedly are).
Still, it wasn’t Jehovah’s Witnesses that sent Jews to ovens in World War II.
If the heart is there, many people will see and know it.
JW is not about heart, it is about ego.
Jehovah Witnesses are not Christian...
What do Jehovah’s Witnesses believe?
Jehovah’s Witnesses believe:
God’s name is Jehovah.
Only Jehovah existed from “everlasting to everlasting.
Jesus is not one with God.
The Holy Spirit it not part of a triune God, He is simply the “force” of God.
God was once alone in the universe.
Satan originated the doctrine of the trinity.
Regarding Jesus, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that He was the first natural son whom Jehovah brought forth and that He is Michael, the archangel, in human form. Jesus is believed to have been anointed at His baptism and then is said to have proved His devotion to God by submitting to a horrifying death on a torture stake. Jehovah”s Witnesses do not believe that He was raised from the dead.
Nor do Jehovah’s Witnesses believe in Hell. Unfortunately for them, this lack of belief does not erase Hell”s existence. They believe that after death, unless they are found to be worthy of eternal life, they will simply remain in the grave, inactive, unconscious and entirely dead.
In order to accept the theologies of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, you have to overlook and completely discount a myriad of Scripture passages. For some study on Hell, read Matthew 5:22-30, 10:28, 18:9; Luke 12:5, 16:23; 2 Peter 2:5 and Revelation 20:10. Hell is very real. It is as real as Heaven! You cannot believe in part of God’s Word and then reject the other parts because they make you feel uncomfortable.
Also, Jesus Christ is clearly God’s Son and is fully God, who came to earth as a man to redeem mankind from the penalty of sin. John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one an only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” There is no question about the deity of Christ!
Lastly, no person will remain in the grave after death. Hebrews 9:27 says, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” We will all die; we will all be judged. Each individual must determine for himself whom he will serve, thus determining his eternal destiny.

They also believe that Yeshua is not G-d in human form, that Yashua was raised as a spirit person ... there’s lots more; they’re polytheists in that the believe in a Mighty G-d and an Almighty G-d .... and on and on ...
It is hard to see it sometimes, but hell is a measure of the respect God has for the eternal souls of humans and what they choose to invest themselves in. God would simply extinguish the refusing souls, in a scenario reminiscent of this, if He had utter contempt for them. He grants them a place where they can live out their contempt for Him.
