Spieth credits much of his success to his sister, Ellie, seven years his junior. She has a neurological disorder that puts her on the autism spectrum and she inspired her brother to set up the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, which raises money for young people with special needs, military families, and junior golf. "Being Ellie's brother humbles me every day of my life," he says.

He spent years hanging out at the Chick-fil-A fast food joint across from Jesuit, his high school in Dallas. And, true to form, Spieth feasted on the chicken chain's sandwiches after claiming the coveted Green Jacket, They even opened on a Sunday just for him.

Hmm, I can think of one PGA player that could learn a lesson from this kind of humility.
Does he live in Juniper, FL?
One who pops bones back into place in his back? LOL
The guy is a class act all around.
He’s 21 going on 40.
Phil is classy too - glad the two of them finished at the top.
Jupiter. Jupiter Island actually. One of the worst things to happen to jupiter, and there have been a lot of changes for the worse in the last 30 years.
Fine, outstanding young man. Great family.
He has been blessed mightily, even before winning the masters.
Good for him on his success and may his marriage and his future family continue to be blessed.
Obviously a homophobe.</sarc>
What a great sounding young man.
Wow! Serious hottie for a girlfriend.
His parents are high school sweethearts and he's been dating the same girl since high school and she is cute rather than some fake-looking Swedish model.
I tried to read the rules of golf but couldn’t. I had to click on so may different links to read each rule, then click to go back and was sent to another website. Is there an easier way to read these? I have never played golf, but have driven many a golf cart and can open a mean beer. I would like to know how to play or at least know what is really going on!
Hooray for Chic-Fil-a and Jordan Spieth!
Sounds and looks like he is a person with CLASS!
The more I read about Spieth the more I like him. He could teach Mr Woods a thing or two.
all around, great stories (plural).
His caddie was a grade 6 math teacher up until recently. Had caddied for him once in a Washington state junior tourney. He’s made approx $350,000 in the last couple of months.
Except for Tiger Woods, I love most of these golf guys.
When they win, they peel off checks to their favorite charities and then they live clean and quiet.
When most football players succeed.. they buy drugs, beat up their spouse, get illegitimate kids all over the place, break the law, drink, create obnoxious scenes in public places, talk like potty mouth idiots and blame the rest of the world for all the problems in the ‘minority communities’ where they grew up.
Yep, I think ya got it. I’ll give ya 1 big clue....he states he is “Cablinasian”...........whateverthehellthatis.
Also, saw him a couple of times at the TPC here in Ponte Vedra FL. What a freakin’ spoiled baby. Bad shot? throws his club down and makes the caddie pick it up, another bad shot? slams his club into the ground like it’s the clubs fault. When he crashed his SUV and the whole thing hit the news and blew up in his face I laughed and laughed. Karma is REAL my friends.
Family has PA roots. Dad played baseball for Lehigh and Mom played basketball at Moravian. I think they come from the Bethlehem area.
There is serious Tiger hatred on this board, and your comment about the Swedish model fits right in. She is actually a very solid person. She just finished her degree at Rollins last year and was very down to earth and humble among class mates while here. She’s a good person and has survived an awfully humiliating situation with class. Whatever happened there, she doesn’t deserve that kind of scorn. With Tiger, he deserves some, but the outright nastiness here is unwarranted for one of the premiere athletes of the last half century.
Speith is awesome, and by all accounts a true role model. I still want to see Tiger return to the highest levels and win more majors. He has been one of the most talented ever at his craft, works incredibly hard and overall has been one of the strongest mentally and physically at the game. I, for one, am not going to beat the guy down. This isn’t directed at you wagglebee, but It’s reminiscent around here of Twitter with it’s ramped up mob mentality over the last week.
