On the first day we saw the North Charleston, South Carolina, shooting video of Walter Scott by Officer Michael Slager we were as shocked as everyone. However, as research now indicates there is much more to the story.
What we cover here in the latest update might just change the entire way the story continues

Wrong. Founders were against the wrong authority. They were not anarchist libertarians against all civilized control nor criminals out to enrich themselves.
Slager had none of Scott’s details. Scott refused to give a driver’s license, insurance, or registration for the vehicle. When Slager went back to the cruiser to get info on the car, Scott ran.

Tell me the tale of Samuel Adams, and his reaction to Shay's Rebellion.
Just as I thought. I have been beat up on a couple of conservative sites for suggesting there was much more to this story. I knew that since the NYtimes had published their phony conviction something else was going on. How many felony convictions were there in the file of this criminal
It was that whole "planting the Taser on the dead guy" thingee, I think...
I loved the little act where Slager brusquely tells the dead guy to put his hands behind his back, then does it for him, because Scott's already dead of lead poisoning.
Was that in Slager's police incident report?
LOL!
“You need to be reminded that in his report habersham states he IMMEDIATELY began CPR when he arrived on the scene”
Incorrect, Habersham makes no such statement.

The video I saw shows the cop throwing the taser behind him. Then going back and picking it up.
I'm quite familiar with the Conservative Treehouse.
They did yeoman work in the Trayvon Martin dustup.
I think they're on the wrong track with this one, though.

License plate numbers aren't "details" in South Carolina?
Who knew...?
I'm pretty sure Scott gave him a driver's license and told Slager he did not have insurance or registration. The video released by police confirms this.

On April 4, 2015 I Officer Habersham responded to the empty Lot behind Mega Pawn in reference to the above incident. I (Habersham) attempted to render aid to the victim by applying pressure to the gunshot wounds and dircting the best route for EMS and fire to take to get to the victim faster.
Report by Sgt J. Gann SS
...I ARRIVED ON SCENE AND OBSERVED OFFICER HABERSHAM WAS ADMINISTERING FIRST AID TO THE DRIVER. I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND ASSISTED OFFICER HABERSHAM WITH FIRST AID AND CPR TO THE DRIVER. WE CONTINUED TO PERFORM FIRST AID AND CPR UNTIL EMS ARRIVED ON SCENE...
“I EXITED MY VEHICLE AND ASSISTED OFFICER HABERSHAM WITH FIRST AID AND CPR TO THE DRIVER. WE CONTINUED TO PERFORM FIRST AID AND CPR UNTIL EMS ARRIVED ON SCENE...”
the radio traffic record shows that this is exactly what they did.
they performed first aid, and started CPR at the medically appropriate time.
(police don’t do CPR on suspects that still have a heartbeat and are still breathing. Thats why it’s called cardiopulmonary resuscitation)

curiously..habersham never mentions CPR at all in his report
Also None of the reports make any mention of slager being tasered
Hey - Slager is still getting his story straight.
You know, like any one of us peasants would be allowed to do...
Well, even if he had turned over his license, there would have been no time to look up any details about him. Scott fled before info would have probably come back.
Do you think Slager had enough time to develop a profile on Scott before Scott began to run away, marking him as guilty of *something* (God knows what)?
Given the question of the ownership of the vehicle, I’d say the safest assumption the cop could make at that moment is, “Holy crap - the reason he didn’t have insurance and registration is because he stole the car! Now he’s running!”
Again - that’s because the ONLY time Slager had was to make assumptions. Not enough time to figure out Scott’s life story from his license plate number.

Ah, "guilty until proven innocent", is that it?
Papieren, bitte...
I got your license, I got your license plate, I got your car, I got your pal. I can find you.
Given the question of the ownership of the vehicle, Id say the safest assumption the cop could make at that moment is, Holy crap - the reason he didnt have insurance and registration is because he stole the car! Now hes running!
And he looks like his license photo, but they all look alike! Come to think of it, he kind of looks like Habersham!
Holy Geez - maybe he stole Habersham's license, and police cruiser!
OFFICER DOWN! OFFICER DOWN!!!
Triage? Triage is what you do when you have multiple victims, as as way of prioritizing resources. Standing over a single victim and doing little more than looking at the bullet holes is not triage.
