On Fridays NewsHour on PBS, New York Times columnist David Brooks was critical of the notion of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressing a joint session of Congress due to the politicization of the state of Israel.
I think its a political disaster, Brooks said. Its a substantive disaster for the state of Israel. I think its political disaster for Bibi Netanyahu back home, because theyre most Israelis are really worried about the state of the relationship. Its different than the past times, in part because its as Mark said, its partisan now. Suddenly, Republicans are pro-Israel. And what are Democrats supposed to do?
Second, support for Israel, especially on the Democratic left, especially on college campuses, is more fragile than its ever been before, he continued. Third, the Iran situation is just this gigantically big issue, and existential for Israel, a serious issue for the United States. And to mess this up at a time when this issue is looming is cataclysmic, distracted the debate over the whats being settled between the U.S. and Iran into some sideshow. And I happen to think Netanyahus concerns about what the deal were apparently getting close to with the Iranians are legitimate, but he has sidetracked that debate into something very self-destructive.

"Never has so much been written about a speech that hasn't been given."
Reading the headline I assumed it was Mel Brooks.
NYC is a political disaster.
George Will is next, I suppose.
"Iran is the foremost state sponsor of terrorism in the world."
So the anti-semitic Poofter doesn’t want Bibi speaking to congress?
David Brooks, a lifetime member of the idiot parade...
At 1:35: “This is what Iran is doing now without nuclear weapons.”
And ISIS is beheading people with the threat of other nation intervention
( if ever used) , so what would they do if in power????
Those who don’t thing beyond their nose ( most politicians) never have this thought cross their mind....
Thanks for the link.
Despite occasional disagreements, the friendship between America and Israel grew stronger and stronger decade after decade. And our friendship will weather the current disagreement as well to grow even stronger in the future.
And I'll tell you why. Because we share the same dreams. Because we pray, hope, and aspire for that same better world. Because the values that unite us are much stronger than the differences that divide us. Values like liberty, equality, justice, tolerance, compassion.
“I think its political disaster for Bibi Netanyahu back home, because theyre most Israelis are really worried about the state of the relationship”
most Israelis recognize 0bama as a muslim agent.
as do those Americans with a working frontal lobe
"Our alliance is sound, our friendship is strong, and with your efforts, it will get even stronger in the years to come."
i’ll tell you where the “disaster” is... OBAMA.
I can’t wait to hear BiBi tell the TRUTH that obama refuses to face.
Why did obama refuse to let the intel agencies review the files removed when bin laden was finished off? Because it shows that iran and al queda have been working together for a decade plus to attack the USA with terrorists.
this shoots a big hole ion obama’s “treaty” with iran. obama is unilaterally wothout any concessions on iran part giving a terrorist country a nuke (10’s of nukes). They have expanded their centrifuge program 10 times faster since “negotiations” were begun and horseface and elephant ears are LYING TO US about the true content of the negotitaions to date.
He is considered the liberals' favorite media "conservative". He is perpetually in Michelle Malkin's crosshairs.
He has posed as a conservative for decades....and actually gets away with it in certain academic and media circles plus among the elite cultural dummkopfs in NYC.
To me, this fraud is the Bernard Madoff of journalism.
Leni
Brooks showed his colors along time ago....Obutlicking lackey. No one is fooled into thinking he has a speck of conservative morals.
Jews would call him a Capo which would seem appropriate.
I had a “pigs must be flying” moment a few weeks ago when Brooks wrote a column that actually sounded conservative. I forget the topic.
How many times is David Brock, I mean David Brooks, going to jump the shark before he falls into the shark’s mouth?
