Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's receiving encouragement to run for president from an unlikely source Rev. Al Sharpton.
The MSNBC host and civil rights leader tweeted that during a meeting on the red carpet at the 40th anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live on Sunday, he encouraged Palin on Twitter to make a bid for the White House but not with the intention of winning.

I saw Sarah Palin on the red carpet and we talked to Xtra together. I urged her to run in
2016 and help the Democrats out.

She has my vote already
Don’t worry about it! If Sarah runs then many that are not will jump back on board. Its like there’s a reserved seat in a ballroom with Sarah’s nameplate on it. Every now and then people are looking over there shoulders looking at that seat expecting Sarah to sit there at anytime. When she does then all eyes will fall on her and she will be on top
Decided that when? Sarah Palin never sought celebrity, it was thrust upon her. Are you upset that she turned it into an asset rather than a liability?
IMO, going by the activity and buzz around Palin and in all the various Palin for president grassroots efforts, she will be running for president.
She would never overtake Cruz.
Upset?
Not in the slightest. I am just surprised that people think she can win.
The REV gets his power by attaching himself to people with power/strength
He’s basically is a leech. Notice who he chose to attach himself to! Who had the most power/strength in the room?
LOL, yep!
“She’s out to make all the money she can.”

Then why, in 2011, did she turn down $1 million per episode to make an additional six episodes of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska?”
When Sarah turned down that lucrative offer in 2011, I thought for sure that was a clue she was running in 2012. Obviously, that didn’t happen.
I love Sarah, but my first choice for 2016 is Ted Cruz.
He’s not pushing Palin run .. he’s just being the usual .. a jackass.
...tweeted that during a meeting on the red carpet at the 40th anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live... ["]I saw Sarah Palin on the red carpet and we talked to Xtra together. Hitch your wagon to a star, Democrats!
You list Palin in the loser column?
Palin has won more elections than Walker and Cruz combined probably.
Your putting Bush and Palin in the same list is LAUGHABLE.
The Bush Machine started undermining Palin the SECOND McCain chose her as his running mate.
They saw how she could hurt their REGIME.
And lest you forget what Cruz said of “loser” Palin:
I would not be in the United States Senate today if it were not for Sarah Palin.”
Your statement is repugnant.
If Palin decided she wanted to be a celebrity, why has she worked SO HARD in 2010, 2012, and 2014 to elect conservatives ACROSS THE NATION?
Governors
Attorneys General
Congressman
Senators
Celebrities don’t do that.
I repeat: Your statement is repugnant and a lie.
Your statement is repugnant and a lie.
Palin has used her platform to elect conservatives ALL ACROSS the nation.
Governors
Attorneys General
Congressmen
Senators
Yes, I am repeating myself.
Because you and your cohorts need to be apprised of the TRUTH,
Just.
Stop.
SNL is the PERFECT place to reach the masses. Are you aware that over 23 million people watched?
And heard Palin talking about running in 2016.
Breitbart (and Reagan before him) rightly said and lived out that culture is upstream of politics.
We live in a country that elected Barack Obama because he was cool.
You can continue your political elitism and snobbery, but the fact is, MOST of the voters are low information voters and you MUST reach them in ways outside of political debates and forums and conventions that ONLY political geeks ever pay attention to or attend.
Political geeks are a very small proportion of the electorate.
You wanna’ win, you gotta’ get votes.
You wanna’ get votes, you gotta’ go where the people are.
The low-information people.
Political geek snobs will never acknowledge this.
Palin does. As did Reagan.
So.
Who’s your guy?
Who is it who’s so weak that you have to make Sarah Palin go away so that he can win?
Who?
Huh?
Cruz is several places behind in every poll.
Polls which ASSIDUOUSLY ignore Palin.
So.
Even without Palin in the polls, Cruz is behind.
Is that common core math?
Someone who’s already behind even with someone else in the polls is somehow never going to be overtaken if that person starts being included in the polls?
Huh?
Two comments:
1) My statement was an opinion and as such it can neither be "truthful, nor a "lie". It can be right, or wrong.
2) When Sarah Palin made the decision to resign as governor (as justified as that may have been), she essentially made the decision to eliminate herself from Presidential consideration, as she gave the opposition a boatload of ammo to use against her.
Much of Ronald Reagan’s success was in his being with people of all colors. Reagan was common sense personified ... beyond race and party “rules”.
