The latest eye-opener comes from the U.S. Treasury, a department tasked with managing the countrys debt as well as the banking system as a whole. According to a new report the Treasury Department has ordered over $200,000 Survival Kits for as many as 3,814 employees who oversee the federal banking system.
Its not clear why the federal government has ordered the kits, but perhaps they are expecting some sort of disturbance to take place and they want their employees to be prepared for it. According to Zero Hedge, the kits will be delivered to every major bank in the United States and include Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Capital One.

I hope there is a good rope in each kit.Piano wire would be more compact.

Less than worthless. No cordage, no firearm, no cutting or impact tools, no fire starter, no container for water purification tabs, just enough supplies to get through a long afternoon, but not enough first aid stuff to clean up a small bar fight.
Where is the Aspirin? A cheap and effective analgesic that helps in heart attack and stroke events when there are no other resources, plus it does not damage the liver or the kidneys like these other NSAIDs do.
Plus this junk ends up just taking up shelf space somewhere.

This sounds like “crony capitalism” to me. There is no need but someone is going to make a few bucks.

That kit isn’t going to be worth anything. They aren’t going to fend off the mob with a dust mask and granola bar. Their only hope is to get outta Dodge before the mob decends upon the banks.
