The latest eye-opener comes from the U.S. Treasury, a department tasked with managing the countrys debt as well as the banking system as a whole. According to a new report the Treasury Department has ordered over $200,000 Survival Kits for as many as 3,814 employees who oversee the federal banking system.
Its not clear why the federal government has ordered the kits, but perhaps they are expecting some sort of disturbance to take place and they want their employees to be prepared for it. According to Zero Hedge, the kits will be delivered to every major bank in the United States and include Wells Fargo, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Capital One.

“Shoot, a fella could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff”
Great movie.
you beat me to it.
I recall hearing that the line was changed just prior to the film’s release.
I thought I’d mangled that line a bit; haven’t seen it in years.
Now we know where to go get some kits.

Don’t forget to ‘shop a cop’ for 9mm, .243, and 12ga.
Do the kits include Krugerands?
This costs $200,000? I want to be the supplier. I could provide a better kit for just slightly less than $175,000. $174,995 to be exact.
Same here, and now pretty common in all Risk Management Contingency Planning SOP's. Probably some regulatory driver dictated it.
Be nice if it’s because they saw the writing on the wall and will need these kits when they’re exiled to Liberia.
All agencies do emergency planning, and a short term shelter in place contingency presumably ranks pretty high on the list of the sensible things that might make the to-do list. This is Treasury, which is downtown, right next door to the White House. I can think of 101 things that could make sitting tight overnight a pretty good choice.
That’s not a good kit. No gun.
LOL, you're right, but not in THOSE quantities (two of each)!
36 bankers down to date and you want to give them a gun? They will only need one round.
Someone in the Treasury Department has a relative in the survival kit business?
You get all of FIVE wet naps? Wow, almost enough to see one meal from cradle to grave, if you know what I mean.
Could be one of two things in my opinion:
1) Someone in government has an extra $200K on hand they can’t spend and a friend or connection that can provide this cache of “what seems reasonable” provisions (at a highly marked up price), or
2) They are preparing for a short term siege on banks (long enough for LE and the NG to get there and protect them).
Great posts BUMP!
I think those are sold separately.
Add some Cipro for infection that the topicals miss and it will keep one going for 2-3 days before dehydration knocks them down.
