Lena Dunham: Why I Chose To Speak Out

Lena Dunham writes an essay for BuzzFeed responding to the controversy over a passage from her memoir describing a sexual assault during her college years.
It has been almost a decade since I was sexually assaulted. It took me a long time to fully acknowledge what had happened and even longer to discuss it publicly, in the form of an essay in my book Not That Kind of Girl. When I finally decided to share my story, it had ambiguities and gray areas, because thats what I experienced, because thats what so many of us have experienced. As indicated in the beginning of the book, I made the choice to keep certain identities private, changing names and some descriptive details. To be very clear, Barry is a pseudonym, not the name of the man who assaulted me, and any resemblance to a person with this name is an unfortunate and surreal coincidence. I am sorry about all he has experienced.

You chose to “Speak out” because crazy people aren’t really heard from.

She spoke out to see if she could become as famous as Hillary while possessing just as little talent.

I am sorry about all he has experienced. Not as sorry as he will hopefully make you.

Would that really mean falsehoods and fabrications?

No, she's actually trying to weasel out of it. ‘He's a pseudonym, there are gray areas’. She's attempting to pull back from any reference to the guy she described and who has filed suit against her. While she still says she was sexually assaulted, the rape she described was a compilation of experiences....blah, blah, blah. She's FOS and trying to back out of it. I hope the guy suing her takes every last cent she has and gets an IOU for anything in her future.

She picks a name out of the blue that just happens to match the Conservative Republican Guy that everyone knows attended her College.
Perhaps she should have checked the Student Body Roster and come up with a made up name instead.
You know, made up names like Barack or Mohammed.

When I finally decided to share my story, it had ambiguities and gray areas, because thats what I experienced, because thats what so many of us have experienced.IOW, how dare you challenge my perception of what I experienced?
This is my narrative, and facts, dates and other inconvenient issues are not important.

She dances around supporting Planned Parenthood in her undies..this chick isn’t playing with a full deck

And when the reporter from Breitbart started asking questions no one knew of anyone who regularly wore purple boots and had a prominent mustache.
Were those made up details as well? If so, how weirdly specific.
I'm beginning to think this was a rape fantasy that she has come to believe actually happened.
To: liberalh8ter
i’do too.
this is panic mode for her. if it was true there’d be zero budging off her original story and she’d be attacking that much harder.
big fat liar. and she’s been called out and is now trying to weasel out of it.
