Bill Cosby has been revered for years as a comedian talking about his youthful experiences in a black neighborhood. His stories are peppered with descriptions of the quirky personalities of his friends, most notable among them, Fat Albert.
Why is Bill Cosby suddenly a bad guy? There has been extensive media coverage, over the past few days, with at least six women now accusing Bill Cosby of sex crimes...purported to happen a long time ago. It has become typical in these kinds of cases for one person to speak out then have several accusers pile on after "consulting their attorneys". The examples of Herman Cain and Clarence Thomas come to mind.
Coincidentally, a few things they all have in common is that their accusers waited years to make the claims and they are all, Cosby, Cain and Thomas, successful black men who have "broken the mold". As a matter of fact all three have been criticized by activists for not being black enough. Specifically, Cosby has made the speaking circuits for some time now, scolding the black community, particularly the youth, about the loss of values in their segment of society and has advocated reform.
It is possible that he is not person we saw publicly, but, the treatment he is receiving by the media is typical of the type that was used to try to destroy the reputation of Cain and Thomas when they were soaring with higher aspirations. That appears to be more than coincidence.
ask Herman Cain
Maybe because it looks like he was caught with his pants down.
I am very curious about this also. It seems to me a great example of the media protecting their favorites for years while ruthlessly attacking their enemies (e.g. Herman Cain.)
The question is: What caused Cosby to be moved from one camp to the other?
Where there’s smoke there’s fire and there’s a lot of smoke around Coz. I not ready to convict him on the basis of smoke but I sure as hell wouldn’t let him babysit or work with my daughter.
they didnt know this before?
It went from something that 2% of the public was aware of to something that 80% of the public was aware of, and it’s disgusting and it’s criminal.
He was already a bad guy, it’s just that people now know that the good guy they thought he was, was a lie.
>>ask Herman Cain<<
Or Clarence Thomas
—Bill Cosby has been pointing out some of the obvious shortcomings of black “society” for years now—maybe the media all of a sudden noticed?
The Power of Celebrity.
There are a lot of “Cosbys” in Hollywood, especially among the Homos there.
Notice how Herman Cain’s “troubles” stopped the very minute he stepped down from his Presidential run? THey seemed just as active as Cosby. In a case of he said/she said, innocence until proven guilty isn’t just a good idea. It’s a requirement.
Certainly it should be investigated and if true, he should be prosecuted or if the statute of limitations is over, he should be publicly castigated often and vigorously. If innocent, he should be left alone.
Did anyone accuse Herman Cain of RAPE??????
Analogy is a damned lost art.....
Because there is a distinct disconnect from our perceptions of the man and his reality.
Compare and contrast that to Bill Clinton. Were any of us surprised to hear he got caught with his pants down? Nope—because our expectations were that he was a pig.
Its all about perceptions.
Don’t you understand? Cosby has criticized the “gangsta” and “thug” culture in the black community. He has criticized the government-dependent welfare mentality. He has to be destroyed by the “politically-correct” progressives. Cosby has been targeted by the prog media, and he will be destroyed, his reputation, his finances, everything but his life, because progressives are too nancy-pants to do any real violence. They have the power of The State to do that for them.
7 women come forward accusing him of RAPE...how do you ignore that?

I think the FIRST mistake is to equate Cosby with Herman Cain. Secondly, Cosby’s persona is a portrayal perpetrated by Hollywood and the media. Two sects of which I don’t really hold any regard, frankly.
I actually don’t know, nor care to know exactly why Cosby and his wife have been ‘out there’ in the limelight trying to do whatever, promoting this or that, or anything. Yes, he has made statements that traditional liberalism does not agree with. Yet, my basic question in this is “what are his personal finances like at this point in time?”
I never liked him after I became of age, actually. His schtick thereafter weighed heavy on my smarmy bullshit scale. I remember back to his days on “I Spy” and think THAT character was more like what these eight women are claiming now. Not funny, cold and calculating..
Personally, I think it is entirely believable this man found out how to use whatever the then-equivalent of Rohypnol was to meet his needs..
He isn’t “suddenly a bad guy”. I remember the stories that came out in the late 1990s about him having an affair in the 1970s. He was already married at the time.
Some of the reports were briefly in the news back in 2005, the press didn’t give a crap.
My 1st wife (RIP) had a similar story about Cosby, matter of fact it’s pretty much the same story. Hers was back in the late 80s when she was trying to become an actress and she was living in NYC, before I met her. I hadn’t thought about it until all these stories started coming out. She said he was a pig. I guess it’s a lot about how to prove it and if you think you can.
