Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said during a news conference Wednesday that a Texas nurse should not have taken a flight the day before she was diagnosed with the deadly Ebola virus.
The CDC acknowledged on October 15th that a 26-year-old nurse named Amber Vinson became the second Texas hospital worker who contracted Ebola while treating Thomas Duncan; she tested positive for Ebola on October 14th. But the Washington Post reported Vinson had a potentially contagious fever of 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit before she boarded Frontier Airlines Flight 1143 back to Dallas-Fort Worth from Cleveland. The CDC said public health workers are trying to interview the 132 passengers.
Frieden declared, Even though there appeared to be little risk for the other people on that flight, she [Vinson] should not have traveled that way. He described Vinson as ill but clinically stable but stated CDC transferred her by medical air ambulance to Emory University Hospital to be near their headquarters in Atlanta.
A report by ABCs WFAA news states that Frontier Airlines confirmed Vinson also flew to Ohio from Dallas-Fort Worth on Flight 1142 on October 10th; Vinson on her round trip flights would have come into contact with about 264 passengers and 10 crew members. However, during her time in Dallas-Fort Worth while suffering from a fever, Vinson could have had contact with up to 60,000 airport employees and 165,542 passengers that

What good is a CDC that gives bad advice? Fire this incompetent NOW
Ya think?
I blame the nurse first. She should have known to stay home no matter what the CDC said.
If I treated an Ebola patient I would be cautious for the next 21 days
She is a selfish idiot.
She should not have been allowed to fly. Thanks for looking after the ‘folks’ CDC.
Just like Obama this guy, Frieden, not only talks out of both sides of his mouth - he believes his own bulls**t.
Frieden isn’t incompetent, it’s intentional.
So, this nurse should not have flown from one city to another in America, because she was at risk of exposure to Ebola, due to treating the patient.
But, it’s perfectly fine for people to continue to travel to America from the “hot zone” because, because why????
Exactly. It’s called critical thinking, something she should have as a nurse, especially having just taken care of someone with a Level 4 virus. The CDC’s advise was breathtakingly stupid. How she couldn’t see that is amazing.
Liberalism is the ideological equivalent of Ebola and its infected all levels of government.
“I blame the nurse first”

Not so. The nurse had contacted the CDC multiple times and had told them her temperature; they advised her that it was OK to fly. Of course Dr Frieden deliberately omitted those details; leaving you and many others to draw the wrong conclusion; just as he did w/the first infected nurse and the “protocols were not followed” meme. Frieden is an equivocating dirt bag.
Also, she licked 1,289,847 spoons and put them back in the silver tray.
Sadly, you may know more about the disease than she did. From what I can tell, they were assured there was no way they would catch it without bathing in blood. They even treated Duncan without protective suits for two days. There is also a good possibility she did not know about the other nurse. I pay a fair amount of attention to the news, and I missed it. They lowballed the announcement. She did call and ask first, which means she had some concern. However, the mantra that the government knows best has sunk in deeply.
Not just a selfish idiot for flying. She potentially infected her immediate family, possibly her fiance, and countless others in Cleveland, on the plane and back in Houston. All this potential for infecting others for what? To plan her wedding. Maybe her family should do some preliminary preparation for possible funerals, just in case.
A nurse should have known better. Good god, she could have done an internet search to know the uncertainty surrounding this disease. She cancelled meetings with her bridesmaids because she was sick before she flew.
And President Lincoln should not have went to the Ford's Theater. /s
No S—t, Sherlock.
