Famed chef Emeril Lagasse says that its becoming all but impossible to be a successful restaurateur in America today. The government just gets in the way too much. Lagasse specifically singled out the current presidents policies.
Its becoming a very challenging industry to become a very successful average restaurateur, continued Lagasse. I cant charge $300 a person in my restaurant or I would not be in business. Am I using any different ingredients? Not really. Am I using any caliber of service staff? I dont think so. I think our service is as good or better than most places.
And then you add all the Obama nonsense to what its become in the last several years. I dont have anything against Mr. Obama. Im just saying the way that, you know the government should stay out of things. [...] Pretty soon, theyre going to wipe a lot of the middle restaurateurs and restaurant cooks. [...] If it continues, then watch: youre going to have high-end, and youre going to have fast food, and youre going to have chain restaurants.
Lagasse shared his thoughts on TNTs On the Menu. He predicts that if the government doesnt start getting out of the way, the American restaurant industry will split and leave entrepreneurs and start-ups behind. American restaurants will consist only of high-end establishments like the ones Lagasse owns, fast food and chain restaurants, because no one else will be able to succeed.
almost..see my #20
This is parallels the destruction of the middle class. There will be the few elites, and then the unwashed masses. High-end restraints for the elites. Chain restraints for the masses.
Glad to hear another person speaking out. Leftists have done more to separate the rich and the poor than anyone else ever could. They make it so hard for a business to exist that only the large companies and very tiny with no overhead can exist.
Guy’s from New Orleans so I think he understands Kahhma.
“Bam!”
And the same is true across the land . . .
We just watched the local jeweler close across the street; the travel agency next door is now packing it up and calling quits. Both had been in business for say 40 years. Our downtown is become a ghost town.
Hey may be in Nawluhnz, but IIRC, he’s originally a boston yankee.
My first thought.

The reason is simple: Though we have a constitution that protects our rights, everyone that works for “big business” really has forfeited those rights - if they want to earn an income. I merely need to point out the fate of a certain pro football team after his phone call remarks were ILLEGALLY recorded and released - or a certain professional athlete who smacked his fiance in an elevator.
Small businessmen and the folks that work for them are too free. They can’t be controlled. The “establishment” wants them erradicated.
Good. Then I hope he goes broke.
Well then he has made his bed and now he’s got to get f—cked in it.
wipe out all but the biggest businesses
workforce participation plummets (reject unemployment numbers as they’re inaccurate)
annual salaries plummet
people will then reach for welfare...
which means they’ll vote for dems under the threat of losing their increasingly needed welfare if the GOP wins
Well as long as there is high end where our government officials and employees can spend out money that’s OK. We certainly can’t afford the prices. Vote them all out and shrink government and give it back to the people.
Heroic assumption: Obozo gives a damn about Americans.
His restaurants do not live up to the promise; I’ve had mediocre to poor meals at his outlets in Las Vegas, Bethlehem and New Orleans. That might be part of his problem also.
I think accusing a second-generation Portuguese of being a “yankee” of any kind is pretty close to fighting words.
Yeah, I think he is a Yankee...
Always hatted his “Bam!” Shows but, when he was discussing simple concepts on other shows he was very engaging and would hold my attention.
If he goes back to coke that may very well happen.
But.... Rut.... Obama’s so charming while he regulates and taxes everyone to death.
