What a way to repay a loyal four-year-old German shepherd who protected his family by chasing a bear away; his reward - the family surrenders the dog to New York City Animal Care and Control citing allergies as the reason they are signing Duke's death sentence.

We have used it and it has reduced not eliminated the scratching. What it has done is made our 13 year old very spry and agile again. She was having some walking problems and those have improved and she is able to jump up on the couch again with out a problem.
There’s nothing wrong with his tail, and he could be scared of vets and transferring that to every doggie place. I know I’ve had my share of that behavior. Not to mention he just may be scared of what is going on now.
No, some ShepHERDS have that body type. Looks part German show, to me. The head is coming at you, and it is held tight with the collar pulling up the neckline; optical illusion. Roach-looking back is dead giveaway to show German type. My sister’s last GS was pretty poor looking, supposedly all german show lines. The skinniness made me think he might have some American show in him.
Is the bovine colostrum safe for older dogs?
Yes, Micro-Tek. It’s an equine product. We had tried every other shampoo we could find & none worked like Micro-Tek.
No, that is a beautiful healthy GSD with no signs of abuse to me. He is just showing the stress and fear of being abandoned. Right now he is “lost” and everything around him is foreign and new and scary. That is a beautiful animal who would make a marvelous rescue.
He is already way ahead of the GSD I rescued being he is housebroken and knows his basic commands.
Some rescue will take him. I wish a guy like this had been available when I was looking for a GSD rescue.
I use the Micro-Tek hoof conditioner (it’s also for mane and tails) on my own hair. I love Eqyss’ Avocado Mist but can’t find it except for online. I hate paying the shipping cost for just one item.
Thanks....is your BC “clean”...from grass fed, etc...as the doc in the article suggests? Our dog (14) has cancer that they couldn’t get all of in surgery (next to trachea)....just trying to help her stay healthy. Plus she has lots of lumps.
I can't agree with you more! I have a cat that I rescued and a year later she broke her leg jumping on my bed because she was so obese.....not my fault that she was obese. See my home page....
After that $1,800 dollar outlay, I vowed she would never suffer from either lack of attention or abandonment for as long as she lives with me.
My vow has cost me vacations and I only left her alone for a weekend....and felt guilty about that too......
I hate people like this. They stink.
This is a low-volume list so dont worry!
(Please Freep-mail me if youd like to be on or off the list.)
Agreed. People jump to all kinds of conclusions, especially with dogs here.
Actually, this article doesn’t say much. It doesn’t even say who has the allergies.
I’m tasting Karma...
Poor pup. I think he was chasing the bear because it was hungry.
That dog has not been fed. I had a neighbor who adopted a rescued GSD. The dog gained weight but still remained a bit on the small side. Still, the GSD bounced back, was very sociable (could immediately read if you liked dogs). It’s a shame when such a lovable dog is abused, yet that will remain loyal and defend.
Someone threw a teeny 6w old black kitten out on our corner. Broke his leg. Compound fracture. The vet had an ‘intern’ from the vet school working for her and let him put the pin in the kittens leg. Only cost us $500. He was free, just cost us $500.
Best cat we’ve ever had. Still solid black too. Pads of feet, nose, whiskers, ears, everything. If the lights are dim he’s a cat shaped void on the back of the chair.
