Via RCP, its Jorge Ramos, a guy so deep in the tank for illegal immigration that even other members of Americas pro-amnesty media are known to grumble about it. The most revealing thing about this clip is how little his argument depends on the particular hardships being suffered by kids in Central America. They face gangs, drugs, and violence if theyre sent back, he allows, but theres no sense that this is some unique crisis requiring a more forgiving policy than might otherwise be advisable. Hes making a straight-up argument, essentially, that if a kid makes it across the border, a compassionate country should take him in, period. Quote: First, we treat children like children, as if they were our own. In fact, this bit makes me wonder what he has in mind by way of comprehensive immigration reform:
Deporting kids wont solve anything.
The only long term plan that will work is immigration reform.
With immigration reform these children would arrive in a safe and orderly way.
They would? Visas on demand for the children of Central America, many of whom are years away from doing the jobs Americans wont do and contributing to the economy, as amnesty fans so often emphasize vis-a-vis adult illegals? Id be curious to hear Marco Rubios, John McCains, or even Chuck Schumers take on that. Ramos may well be right on how the Gang of Eight bill would operate in practice but the main beneficiaries of more liberal admission policies are supposed to be highly skilled immigrants, not young state dependents. Im sure Schumer, at least privately, would be happy to see the bill metastasize into de facto open borders for vast populations in Mexico and Central America hence Ramoss confusion but Im not so sure Rubio and the Republicans do. You dont suppose they misjudged the lefts intentions on this issue, do you?
Say this for the guy, though. At least hes honest, calling for amnesty for the kids outright instead of jerking around with phony due process arguments designed to wreck the system so that they have amnesty in practice but informally. Exit question: If governments shouldnt be in the business of deporting children, Mexico should go ahead and amnestize all the Central American kids currently waiting near its northern border to cross into Texas, right?

Believe me, if a bunch of African kids on boat landed and the “givern”ment sent them to Latino area....
Was this idiot referring to the governments of Mexico, or the Central American or South American countries?
No government should engage in human trafficking for political purposes, either.
So, send them to Chicago where they will feel at home.
No government should be in the business of IMPORTING children.
Now you tell me.
Equally, you jackass, no government should be involved in EXPORTING their children.
Ramos who looks like a criollo, a European Hispanic, must miss Mexico where people like him lord over the Mestizos and Indians. He wants to bring that to the US.
“Deporting kids wont solve anything.”
Mexico is ‘deporting’ Central American children to the US.
What’s the difference?
No governnemt should be in the business of exporting kids, or citizens of any age.
Really? Then why are all these South American countries departing their children here? And on death trains no less.
Then why is the Mexican and U.S. govt. exporting children from Mexico and countries further south.
Maybe, we should just deport Univision reporters!
Jorge must have an IQ just short of a four day old taco.
The countries who are leading “deporters” of children (and all age groups) are Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. The biggest exports of these countries are their peoples.
Go preach to them, Jorge.
If those central American kids got to the US border and weren’t allowed to cross, what does the Univision anchor think the Mexican government should (and would) do with them?
I’d really like to know if the anchor means “no government” or just “the US government” should not deport kids.
