Political correctness has now reached an entirely new stratosphere: The University of Wisconsin-Madison believes grades should be apportioned based on race:
Campus Reform reports:
The policy, named the Framework for Diversity and Inclusive Excellence, calls for proportional participation of historically underrepresented racial-ethnic groups at all levels of an institution, including high-status special programs, high-demand majors, and in the distribution of grades.
Huh? UWM professor W. Lee Hansen wrote about his concerns with the ridiculous politically correct policy late last week:
Professors, instead of just awarding the grade that each student earns, would apparently have to adjust them so that academically weaker, historically underrepresented racial/ethnic students perform at the same level and receive the same grades as academically stronger students.
The good professor also took the university to task over how students of one race could prohibit students of other races from selecting their major:
Suppose there were a surge of interest in a high demand field such as computer science. Under the equity policy, it seems that some of those who want to study this field would be told that theyll have to choose another major because computer science already has enough students from their difference group.
As the famous Austrian economist F.A. Hayek said: There is all the difference in the world between treating people equally and attempting to make them equal.
Leveling the playing field between esteemed universities and colleges and diploma mills!
YUP....anything to make it “fair”.
just another attempt to advance non-whites into positions of authority
if non-whites want to be treated equally, they should denounce this completely. if they do not... they’re just being racist and looking for handouts.
Bill Ayers must be thrilled
No, “Jack Acid” is quite a bit older. It’s a storyline from the old comic “Pogo”.
As quoted by Mole Macaroney: “How about Jack? Jack is Money, Money is power. And Acid, denoting Biting Strength!”

That comic is a little bit before my time.
So who wants to fly on the first planes designed by “under represented minorities”??? Or how about heart surgery from a doctor from an “under represented minority”???
Minorities ought to fight this tooth and nail. It cheapens their accomplishments when they really do earn it.
It would be the Racial Warp...
The response from the university is here:
http://www.news.wisc.edu/23011
(excerpt) “The report is intended to help members of the campus community contribute to making UW-Madison more equitable, inclusive, and diverse, both on campus and to the broader community. Contrary to Hansens claims, our framework absolutely does not extend to how instructors should or could grade students.”
The actual report is just the kind of liberal, feel-good BS about providing more support for minorities who might not be able to handle college education.

So it’s true? People of color are racially inferior?
Duh....

Stupidest thing I’ve read this year.
Start telling that to the profs and see what their reaction is. I bet priceless!
To all:
All of the best of all of the ethnicities can and will rise to the top,if no one interferes in the process.
What good is a hollow victory, except to the minipulators, who think,or actually , may gain from it...
I am not a racist!
Said the sheep...
I wonder how many 9th place ribbons this ass had in his room as a child.
I wonder if my University would expostfacto raise my GPA in pharmacy school to reflect I am a certified RED NECK?
Probably not, as the liberals consider us as sub-human and worthy of nothing except the gallows.
If I was a student there, and I almost was, I would transfer there before the Fall for the University to even remotely considering such a thing.
