Obama Responds To Iraq Request For "Kinetic Support", Says Ready To Take Military Action

As we reported yesterday, Iraq, realizing it has neither the capacity nor the willingness to engage Al Qaeda's ISIS "spin off" did what every other oil-rich regime in such a situation does: asked Obama for "kinetic support." Moments ago Obama gave his response:
- OBAMA SAYS "I DON'T RULE OUT ANYTHING" WHEN IT COMES TO HELPING IRAQ DEAL WITH INSURGENTS
- OBAMA SAYS US HAS AN INTEREST IN MAKING SURE JIHADISTS DON'T GAIN A FOOTHOLD IN IRAQ
- OBAMA SAYS THERE WILL BE SHORT-TERM IMMEDIATE ACTIONS THAT NEED TO BE DONE MILITARILY IN IRAQ, US OFFICIALS LOOKING AT ALL OPTIONS
And here is why, as we predicted yesterday when faced with not only but two brand new scandals, the VA farce and the Berghdal "extraction" fiasco, the most likely outcome is war:
- OBAMA SAYS IRAQ `CLEARLY IS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION'
- OBAMA ADMINISTRATION SAID NOT CONSIDERING GROUND TROOPS IN IRAQ
- OBAMA SAYS US IS PREPARED TO TAKE MILITARY ACTION WHEN ITS NATIONAL SECURITY INTERESTS ARE THREATENED
So the US is about to unleash hell against the same Al Qaeda extremists it was arming across the border in Syria? Score one more for US foreign policy. Meanwhile, the one person who benefits the most from rising crude prices, that would be Putin for those who still don't get it, is laughing all the way to the bank.
Update: good news - the US won't be fighting Iraq's war alone. Here comes.... France:
- 'FRANCE'S FABIUS SAYS INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST DEAL WITH IRAQ SITUATION URGENTLY
- FRANCE'S FABIUS SAYS JIHADIST SURGE PUTS TERRITORIAL UNITY OF IRAQ IN DOUBT AND IS MAJOR RISK FOR REGIONAL STABILITY
- FRANCE'S FABIUS SAYS INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY MUST DEAL WITH IRAQ SITUATION URGENTLY
Funny how France is so generous when pledging the aid of the international community and not, for example, that of France.

Are you referring to Keystone XL? The oil could be flowing now if the decision had been made five years ago.
Now what?

Now we know what the administration is doing in Iran negotiating a nuke deal.
By the time Obama leaves office, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Lebanon with be called Greater Persia.
The Shiites are using the Sunnis to destroy the countries. As soon as that is done, Iran and Syria are going to kill them all.

One question. Are these the same people thats we were supporting in Syria?
To: All
For the past two years or so, the Syrian civil war has been three-cornered conflict (with a fourth element, the Kurds, active in the far northeastern areas adjacent to Iraqi Kurdistan).
This faction now threatening to engage the Iraqi government in a showdown for total control broke away from the Syrian rebels and even from Al Qaeda over the past two years. They now control substantial portions of northern and eastern Syria as well as areas between Baghdad and the Kurdish enclave in Iraq. Their aim is to create a hard-line Sunni theocracy that will eventually stretch from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean.
They have had skirmishes in Syria with both the government and the rebels.
What is most likely to happen, I feel, is that this group will over-run their maximum capability soon and will have to choose between running three or four provinces in Iraq and two in Syria, or dissolving and melting back into the population to back global jihad instead. The battles about to begin around Baghdad will largely determine which of these two outcomes they choose. I doubt that they can totally evict the Iraqi government but they might be able to reduce Baghdad to years of sectarian conflict (one of their stated objectives is to “remove” the Shi’ite population). As the southern provinces of Iraq are mainly Shi’ite, this appears to present a sort of natural self-limiting appeal of this group nationally.
The one thing one might say is that if three factions (increasingly, the governments of Iraq and Iran will see common ground with Damascus) develop in the region to roughly equal proportions and if the Kurds can fortify themselves adequately, then we have no real dog in the hunt and could look forward to decades more of this Muslim on Muslim violence. Why we want to intervene in it is almost solely determined by the security of oil exports. Otherwise it’s their problem and I take the view that if they are killing each other, they can’t be killing us.

Yes. they are all the same people. think of it like liberals. There are say 1000 libs as an example. Each belongs to 50 lib groups. On paper it looks like 50,000 libs.
but it is all the same 1000.

which side are we on this timeIn Iraq we're on the side of taking out the terrorists we armed and trained in Syria. Maybe Obama wants them to go back and defeat Assad? (sarcasm)
The only answer at this point would be if every player in the ME got rational, put aside their differences, and worked together to take the arms and fighting ability away from ISIS and any other group fighting to topple regimes. Just like Egypt did with their out-of-control maniacs.
