We could bring guns to school during hunting season when I was in high school in the 80s. They had to stay in our car if we drove or they had to go in the principal’s office if a parent brought us. (they didn’t allow them on the bus)

Great grandad took his .22 on the bus to school on practice days. Held it between his legs. No biggie.

A school DH worked at a few years ago still had an indoor GUN RANGE in the basement of the gym — for the students who used to participate in high school shooting competitions.

Yeah. Conceal’em, carry’em; and don’t tell’em. When the time comes, you’ll know what to do, and be equipped to do it. This is not a policy matter at all. Policy can’t handle the truth.

Don't care makes sense but why in the world anyone goes to a poll and responds with "Don't know" is just a symptom on what is wrong with American society. Every watch these people when they are in front of you in a buffet line?

In Kansas, firearms are not permitted in schools. However, Kansas law makes a number of exceptions, including one for Concealed Handgun License holders (provided that the school is not lawfully posted as a “Victim Disarmament Zone”). Unfortunately, Kansas law does not make an exception for discharging a firearm on school grounds in legal self-defense.
So in other words, we can have our gun on school grounds; we just can’t shoot our gun on school grounds if someone is trying to kill us (or the kids).
