I believe there are 2 types of democrat voters: 1. The liberal left that really wants to tear this country apart and
2. Low information voters that support them without understanding what the consequences are.

It’s not that reasonable people vote Democrat. It’s that they are not voting Republican

I think most people understand why people vote democrat, but there is trouble with the other side not explaining why not to vote democrat.
The problem we are going to have to sort out is how to rid ourselves of Bush/Rove/McCain wing of the republican party. If it takes a new conservative pro-American effort, so be it. I think we have nothing more to lose.

In other words, the party and their useful idiots.

The low information voters think that Bush/McCain/Romney are conservative and rightly recoil from that choice. If they knew more about Ted Cruz, Scott Walker and, yes, Rand Paul, they might find the ideas of the right much more appealing.

"I think most people understand why people vote democrat, but there is trouble with the other side not explaining why not to vote democrat."I dissagree. Your first post indicates a lack of understanding. You lumped them all into two categories, Extreme leftwing and uninformed. And this post doubled down on that basically blaming Republicans for not informing them.
Until we do serious analysis of both the social, fiscal and foreign policy issues, choose sides and present plans, and try to educate and win voters over to our way of thinking, we offer nothing more than Hope and Change.
And part of the problem is that we know the issues, but we haven't thought through them enough to present a rational solution. For example: jobs. Romney talked only a little more about jobs than did Obama and offered very little in way of specifics. Neither side is talking about jobs, but I guarantee you it's a huge issue with voters.
American Thinker: 36 reasons to vote democratic (Sarcastic and funny - but not the serious analysis we need.)

LOL, Well I'm not saying that all democrats are informed or rationale.
But ill-thought out blanket assumptions are killing us. Romney assumed in the last election that nobody receiving payments from the government would ever vote for us. He discounted senior republicans on SSA. He discounted conservative jobless, who favor Republican policies. And in doing so, he single handedly made the case why donating to him was a futile excercise. If Romney was right, you might as well save your money and wait for something to change.
Just in that article alone, you see several issues that can be worked.
- That democrat is in favor of gun control. That's an issue that we need to educate on.
- He's confused about the meaning of the constitution, in part because New York and Chicago have unconstitutional laws. We need to educate and we need to fight those unconstitutional laws. Didn't we recently win against those laws in Chicago? It's not enough to defeat the laws, we need to educate why the Right to bear arms is important.
- He thinks the President came from our country. Well, we learned we need to implement a process to verify. And we learned the judiciary thinks we don't have standing and that also needs to be fixed for future elections.
- He thinks Chicago is safer than Morehead. Morehead, NC had one murder in 2012. He is badly uninformed. But again the safety record of gun control is something we can educate on. Issue specific education is one of the strategies we need to implement. Other's include actually having a plan.
- He thinks the constitution is not that great and needs to be changed. We need to educate on the rule of law and that there is a proper lawful way to modify the constitution, that doesn't involve just ignoring it or allowing President Obama to single handedly change it.
- He thinks Republicans are racist. We need to do a better job to overcome that perception. And we are doing a better job. People like Dr. Carson are fighting against that perception. But we miss a lot of opportunities to reinforce that we are not racist.
- He thinks the constitutional clause "natural born" means natural birth and not "c-section". Okay, I'm not sure we can do enough education to win this idiot over. But there are smarter democrat voters that will swing, if we make our case, and Reagan proved that.

The problem is, that "voter" in the Letter to the Editor, is functionally illiterate and borderline retarded. Look at the wording. There is no way in hell you're going change his/her/its mind. Go down point by point, and I guarantee you you will get nothing but vulgar bile and....

He thinks the constitutional clause "natural born" means natural birth and not "c-section". Okay, I'm not sure we can do enough education to win this idiot over. That was the main point of my post for this letter to the editor. Originally, I thought it was a hoax, but a little I'net research revealed one thing. There ARE people that stupid. Lost cause if there ever was one.
Of course, they think that John McCain campaigned in all 57 states, and Sarah Palin said " I can see Russia from my house" as well. And we thought Dummie Funnies were fake.....

Yeah, that guy has problems. But if we think they are all that way and there is nothing we can do, then we deserve to lose.
Our last campaign was “Yay us!” and “Hope and Change”. That may have worked for Obama, but it didn’t work for Romney.
