Caddell Bombshell: GOP Establishment Wants the IRS to Go After the Tea Party
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 2-17-2014 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 02/17/2014 11:50:40 AM PST by servo1969

RUSH: The Republican Party establishment... Let me set this up by going back to the 2012 presidential campaign. Remember when you learned that the Romney campaign, along with Republican establishment types, had put the word out that there was to be no criticism of Obama? In fact, I remember... I think I told you all this. A prospective Republican presidential candidate in 2010 or 2011 visited me.

There was some confab here in Palm Beach, and this man called and wanted to come by and tell me what his plans were. So I said, "Sure, come on by Sunday morning." The guy said, "Rush, now, I just want to tell you: We can't go after Obama. That's instant death. We can go after his policies, but we can't go after Obama." I said, "Really? How do you separate 'em? How do you not go after Obama if you're going after his policies? How could you go after his policies while not going after Obama?"

"We can't make it personal, Rush. We just can't do it." And that bled over to the Romney campaign, so much so that in the debates they wouldn't even bring up Benghazi. So now, the Republican establishment has let everybody in the party know that they will not tolerate, they will not advocate, and they won't put up with anybody attacking the Clintons' past. If Hillary runs for president, there will be no discussion of Lewinsky and the blue dress.

There will be no discussion of the Rose Law Firm, the billing records. There will be none of that stuff from the past. "We're not gonna dredge it up," the Republican establishment says. "It ain't gonna happen. We can't win by going back and being critical of the Clintons. We can't bring all that stuff up from the past. We're not gonna do it. We're gonna stay away from it."

Sure, they can attack Palin. They can attack Palin's whole family. They can make movies and talk about how the Republicans were so scared of her lack of intelligence, they wouldn't even vote for her. They can do all that, but we can't attack the Clintons. We couldn't attack Obama, and can't now attack the Clintons. Pat Caddell was on Fox saying the GOP establishment wants the IRS to go after the Tea Party.

Pat Caddell said yesterday on Fox News that the reason Republican leadership has not pushed for a higher-level investigation of the IRS for targeting the Tea Party is because they want the IRS to go after the Tea Party. When you have 71% who want an investigation, 64% who believe it is a sign of corruption, including nearly a majority of Democrats, the reason is the establishment Republicans want the IRS to go after the Tea Party.

Got it?

They want them to go after the Tea Party because the Tea Parties are an outside threat to their power hold. I'm telling you, the lobbying-consultant class of the Republican Party and Republican leadership, who have been attacking the Tea Party and alienating them, they want the IRS to do this. That's why there hasn't been any establishment Republican pushback on the IRS. It's almost safe to say the Republican establishment might be willing to lose a couple of elections if it meant getting rid of the Tea Party; because it's clear, folks, they don't want to win any elections the Tea Party can claim any credit for.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: You gotta hear Pat Caddell. I mentioned this, but I want you to hear Pat Caddell say it. It was last night on the Fox report on the Fox News Channel, talking about the IRS targeting Tea Party groups.

CADDELL: The reason is, the establishment Republicans want the IRS to go after the Tea Parties. Got it? They want to go after the Tea Parties because the Tea Parties are an outside threat to their power hold, and I'm telling you, the lobbying, consulting class of the Republican Party and Republican leadership who have been attacking the Tea Parties and alienating them, they want the IRS to do this.

RUSH: That is a serious charge. That is a very, very serious charge, that the Republican establishment is aligned with Obama and is okay with Obama using the IRS to investigate the Tea Party. But it's believable, because we know the Republican establishment, the political class in Washington, is spreading the word that they are not gonna criticize Hillary, it isn't gonna happen, and we shouldn't, either. It shouldn't happen. It won't help anybody to criticize the Clintons, at least not from the nineties. Maybe go after her on Benghazi, but if anybody does that they'll say, "No, no, no, leave Benghazi alone." And pretty soon they're gonna say no criticism of the Clintons. That's not gonna help us. You watch.

“Well the only reason I’m not currently voting Tea Party, is because nobody is (currently) running as that.

2016 is more than two years from now....”
*******************************************************************

You do know that it’s 2014 now and not 2016?

There are PLENTY of TEA PARTY candidates running across the country. Any desire to support them and help them succeed?

Yes, Freepers are way ahead of the media. Been that way since at least as long as I have been a member.

I am all in favor of Tea Party candidates.

What I was hinting at, is the GOP may need to be cast aside.

Currently the two strongest GOP candidates are still in the party. (Palin and Cruz)

I am merely saying, they may in fact need to make the move.

If they do, this poster is 100% ready.

Solid evidence exists that Karl Rove has made such moves against Tea Party candidates in past elections.

And Rove is GOPe.

QED.

Personally I think the public needs to lead them out. By ditching the people thwarting them at every turn.

We can lead, they can follow.

Dang, man, we’ve got to start getting at least as smart as the real enemy and use intelligent, stealth tactics to win. Using intelligence is how Reagan’s America helped freedom fighters win around the world. A lot of people around here using some of this logic would call Reagan a traitor because he was supporting freedom fighters within a dictatorial country. That’s stupid. I’m a libertarian freedom fighter with the GOP until it is overthrown.

I’m with you all the way.

The ONLY reason I am still registered as a republican is so I can vote against McConnell in the primary.

The GOP’s lack of action speaks volumes.

The GOP only takes action on two things: First, every six months they try to get amnesty snuck through before getting smacked down. And second, every few months they pretend to be upset about the debt and spending, they go ahead and approve more debt and spending. And that's it. Name one other thing they've done other than those two? Well those and getting mad as hell at the tea party and Ted Cruz. Anything?

Personally I'm done with them. I won't vote for democrats because they are opposed to everything I value and I now feel the same about the GOP, with a few notable exceptions. Ted Cruz, can you bring me back in?

Pat Cadell is a DEMOCRAT operative....

Thanks for being the one to finally point that out.

He gets conservatives all fired up to the point that all they are doing is shooting at themselves in purity duels.

We don't have the Senate. We need the Senate. Circular firing squads will not get us the Senate, and Cadell knows this. I trust him about as much as I trust Dick Morris.

Let's focus on taking the Senate first, holding the House and then watch what happens. Our tea party numbers have been steadily growing from the grass roots up. Let's not forget that it was uphill in 2010 and we were outspent, but taking the House and all the State offices was a resounding victory. We can do it again if we remain patiently at it.

Sure we all want results now, but the task at hand is to minimize the damage that can be done by Congress (D)'s and Obama in the next 4 months. Then its going to be July recess followed by the election run up 24x7.

All the "you can keep your doctor, you can keep your plan" ads will be devastating in multiple districts and Senate races.

FReegards!

I will not vote for another RINO under any circumstance. I will vote for any Tea Party candidate, but that’s it.

You republican party hates your guts... they hate your conservatism... they hate your ideology... because I am a Conservative like yourself and they hate me. Rush has been told directly by GOP/E leaders that social conservatism must die... gays and abortion must be accepted... and they told him this going back as far as the 80’s. He and others have warned us for many years... the gop/e cannot be trusted. They have proven this by their own actions. Remember when boehner was given a second chance and when he was sworn in as speaker for the second time said, “We have heard you LOUD AND CLEAR and we will get it right this time”. How is that working out for you now?

I have heard the words of boehner, cornyn, mccain, corker and others... through those in the room with them at the times that they have spoken out against us. I have heard Mike and Ted talk about how these so called leaders despise us and really hate religious Conservatives (interviews with Rush). They want us destroyed. They are in collusion with the rats and irs to destroy the ability of the TEA Party to have an impact. If you want to blame the divisions within the republican party on someone... blame those that control the republican machine. Your argument no longer holds water and only further divides an already dying party.

I truly believe you are correct. This may be the last republican national election. There are not enough corporatists and billionaires to vote them a victory. They embrace us or lose.

So...you’re 100% ready to support Cruz if he leaves the Republican Party. But not ready to support his (and our) seizing control of the Party and remaking it into a true conservative party? Because the taking of the Republican Party is the war the Tea Party is now engaged in. The more of involved in the struggle, the better...and the surer the outcome.

I’m also in support of Cruz and Palin if they stay and fight.

I am in support of Cruz and Palin strongly.

The GOP, not so much at the moment.

Do you know anything at all about Pat Caddell? Probably not, because you didn't even spell his last name correctly. He is NOT associated with the current crop of statist DemocRATs. He is an old-line Democrat who hates the ones in power.

If you had been paying attention the last several years, you would have known that he has consistently criticized Obama and the current DemocRATs.

Yep and I'll add to what you said. If Karl Rove, John McCain, and Pat Caddell, were in a debate over who's doing what to whom I would believe Pat Caddell over Rove, McCain, or even McConnell or Bohoner, even though I may not agree with him politically. He is one of the few remaining Dems who gives a Tinker D about our nation.

As of late a lot more critisim, whistle blowing, and truth, has came from Caddell than the GOP-E, Obama, or the DEM leadership. Caddell has not been holding back on critizing the DEMs either.
