Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) expressed outrage over a series of campaign ads informing voters of her support for the Affordable Care Act. While not disputing the accuracy of the content, Hagan contended that the more important question is who is behind these ads.
Whether I voted for the Affordable Care Act years ago is a moot issue at this point in time, the Senator claimed. The past cannot be undone. What matters is the future. The money being put into rehashing the past by the Americans for Prosperity campaign against me is obscuring this crucial fact.
Instead of allowing themselves to be confused by Monday morning quarterbacking of the sort that these ads are undertaking, voters need to focus on what I am promising to do for them if I am reelected, Hagan urged. They need to ask themselves if they want to follow the siren song of lower taxes that Americans for Prosperity is trying play for them or do they want to reconfirm the trust they placed in me six years ago.

One of my first thoughts on seeing this is that I’ll bet you could make good money as a speech writer for Kay Hagan. You wouldn’t have to change a thing.

It surely isnt complicated. The people cant tell whether proposed legislation will benefit or harm them. They look to their representatives experience and industry to understand the ramifications of legislation.
The people elected you for your ability to predict the future benefit or harm to them from all legislation you vote on. This is your job.
Running away from your reality is not good form for someone seeking votes. The, what difference does it make at this time attitude isnt accepted everywhere.
You are not on a par with other legislators who used their experience and industry to take correct decisions on the peoples behalf. The nations needs more representatives like them and fewer like you.
You are correct. No more need be said.
I just left a couple of choice comments on her FB wall.
When I steal a line, I steal it from the best.

By the way, I have known more than a few men who are quite patronizing and insulting in their attitude toward women, smugly superior, and absolutely absolutely without exception there is no basis in reality for them to believe themselves so. Indeed, I have noted this attitude to be the hallmark of men with barely adequate intellectual abilities. I have noted the opposite too, brilliant men show great humility, they easily and readily acknowledge the intelligence and capabilities of the women in their lives. In fact, when they recognize a particular woman may in fact have more “upstairs” than they do, they have no trouble saying so. Now apologize and be glad that both sexes can be endowed by their creator with very superior minds, and look around you with an open mind for a change; there are women in your world are smart, maybe a lot smarter, as you are. And the same goes for women leaders!
That’s what makes John’s work great - He either says what they’re really thinking, or what they’ve said behind the scenes and haven’t been called on.
Exactly don’t look at what I actually did in the past, listen to the promises I have made in the future... UNBELIEVABLE
My blood boils, I get so frustrated at what they get away with! Then I look and realize John got me again! Meanwhile we all know it’s all just under the surface...
Good one!
John - I love your work, you know that but I have to admit, goat granny is right - some of the stuff you write is so close to the truth that it is frightening.
