In raw numerical terms, President Obama's State of the Union speech was watched by fewer people than any since Bill Clinton's last in 2000. But what percentage of your fellow Americans watched? I took the Nielsen cumulatives, released moments ago, and measured the number of viewers as a percentage of the population each year and found this:

Haven’t watched ANY of Obama’s SOTU speeches. Heck, I didn’t even watch the last few of Bush’s SOTU speeches, after his big push for amnesty.
I did watch the sotu. To see what he wants to do to us.
Better to be warned than caught by surprise.
The MyIRA thing is pretty dangerous, but him being in the White Hut is dangerous as is.
Watched it knowing who he is and that he lies as easily as he breathes.
His support is slipping because of his horrible handling of just about everything and his lies about everything else.

I went to sleep after 20 minutes and didn’t wake up until 10:45PM..
I was nice and cozy and warm for once...
It had snowed all day but it was warmer than it had been for weeks...
The Everybody Loves Raymond reruns last night were hysterical classics.
Sadly...no Mavs game.

Not 'alarming' at all when the State of the Union has become a "performance" rather than a serious event. A written report to Congress and the American people would have more merit these days.
Last night I found a cable channel showing re-runs of the 1990 series “In Living Color.” I laughed my a** off watching the way the Wayan brothers (all black) made fun of Holder’s people and gay people. Homey the Clown is a dead ringer for Eric Holder. That was a close as I got to watching the SOU speech.
I watched my Lakers lose..again but Im used to it :(

I wondered that myself. If I wanted to watch a freak show, I would have watched the old movie, “Freaks” or the bar scene from “Star Wars”.
