BOSTON (CBS) — As soon as next summer, nuggets and other popular chicken products could be made with chicken processed in China, all because of a recent change in regulations.
“Oh, it makes me a little nervous,” says mother of two, Katrina Lee.
China has a long history of serving up unsafe food, including the industrial chemical melamine that was deliberately put in pet food and infant formula. There were also cases of tainted rat meat passed off as lamb.
“To me it’s a big leap of faith for us to now have to accept that foods coming from china are going to be safe,” says Elizabeth Scott, a food safety expert at Simmons College.

I research my dog food and treats to make sure they aren’t from china. No way would I knowingly feed my children Chinese chicken nuggets. It’s all in truth in labeling.
Oh come on now. Cadmium, Lead, and melamine are fine nutritional products.
Yep, and The FDA has declared that Chinese chicken can be marked as American chicken.

since chicken ‘nuggets’ and pot pies are easy enough to make from scratch you can buy fresh local poultry and be done with it

A main asset of a food company is customer trust. Why they would risk that for a few cents/bird is beyond me.
I ain’t eatin’ it.
I think chicken nuggets are mostly “parts”, a as in Vienna sausages/Potted Meat. Just bigger chunks of “parts”.
