"You can't say gay couples shouldn't be married, after all, they are born that way." is one of the most common arguments for gay "marriage." The idea is if the public is convinced that homosexuality is innate and not a choice, then the public as a whole will become more accepting of homosexuality and gay marriage. However, this argument has no scientific support and indeed, neurology may provide an explanation of how homosexuality is indeed a choice.

If they want to admit it is genetic then when the gene is determined, parents-to-be can do some tests and decide if they want to visit their local abortionist. Then watch the liberals..... LOL
When I was in high school, there were 2 kids that i would have guessed were gay (if i had to guess at the time). I had known them since about 8 years old, and they always seemed.... different. And they had normal families, strong father figures, etc. etc.
Sure enough, 30 years later, they’re both gay.
I was born a product of alcoholic parents, and in my early years I was prone to alcoholism, I chose to say no.
A person may be born with a tendency toward homosexuality, they have the option to say no, just as I did toward alcoholism.
The struggle can be hard, but it is still a choice. For those that think that there is no choice, they are saying that G_d can make a mistake or that He thinks homosexuality is a viable and accepted option.
To me alcoholism and homosexuality and many other “isms” are a choice G_d gives you and awaits your decision.
Just my very humble opinion.
Please, no flames ... as I said, just my humble opinion.
I think there are many reasons for homosexuality....everything from choice, to parental issues, to gene issues...I have a friend with a daughter who has OBVIOUSLY been gay for a long time...like some say....”Would YOU choose to be homosexual?” Some do...some do not...IMHO. BUT, that does not mean they should be “married.” It’s kind of like someone who is born without legs...they CANNOT walk....never will be able to walk...so, they cannot be a “walker.” (Hope that makes sense.)
No more than falling in love with a horse or five women would be a choice.
Here is what we know. Homosexual attraction is not genetic. This has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt by geneticists. It is also extremely fluid, especially in the teenage years. It does not produce life, and therefor cannot be biologically natural or desirable. Sodomy drastically increases one’s chances of contracting painful and even deadly sexually transmitted diseases, while the psychology of homosexuals promotes promiscuity in many forms, only compounding the risk. Homosexuals suffer from higher rates of suicide and depression. Those that are in committed relationships, are more likely to suffer domestic abuse than heterosexuals.
To put this issue in brief:
Genetically - homosexuality is primarily caused by environmental factors
Biologically - homosexuality is reproductively nonsensical
Medically - homosexuality is at best risky, at worst lethal
Morally - homosexuality is endorsed by no mainline religion as a desirable pursuit
What we have is a small but very vocal and organized community of misguided people suffering from a debilitating psychological disorder, which the psychology community has been roped into covering for, backed by big money and big media in a quest for something they will never achieve: normalcy. It is almost tragic to see them desperately try to be just like everyone else, redefining our most sacred institution, marriage, forcing themselves into schools, cake shops, and government positions. Imagine such a movement for people with multiple personalities, repeatedly telling us that it was normal to have 15 different people living inside one body. It wouldn’t matter what they did, they would still be the aberrations. They would never be normal.
Who is to blame? I put most of the responsibility on the American Psychiatric Association, for giving these people false hope, the false idea that their proclivity was somehow ‘natural’ and acceptable. The studies of men like Kinsey, who ruthlessly supported and encouraged child molesters, should have been denounced and burned, but they were not. It has now gotten so far beyond lunacy that we declare boys who think they’re girls at 7 years of age are ‘normal’.
America, this battle was lost by moral and intellectual cowards who refused to confront homosexuals with the truth... that they are disordered. Now, our nation marches onward towards more hedonism, with polyamorists beginning to eye each other with organizational intent. As history shows, nations on this path are on the road to destruction. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Bingo.
It doesn’t matter if the behavior is genetic or not. What matters is the behavior itself. The gay lifestyle has never been openly discussed or evaluated. All they have done is say if you don’t agree with me that you are full of hate. What nonsense! For a start, is sodomy a healthy practice? It doesn’t matter if it’s genetic or not, if it’s unhealthy it should be discouraged. The gays a living in an alternate reality and trying to force us to live there too. Why aren’t we fighting back? Aren’t our children worth it?
Blogpimping is a choice.
Homosexuality is a bad choice.
Sort of like pimping a blog on FR your first day here.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him, male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them. Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth. Genesis l: 27, 28 KJV
“For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it.” - Jesus Christ, Matthew 19:12
Oddly, I am lectured that gays are “born that way because God doesn’t make mistakes.” And yet, transgendered people must be corrected using my taxes and insurance fees because “God made a mistake.” I wonder if God gets tired being trotted out for the convenience of the Left.
Doesn’t matter if you think it’s a choice - you still have a choice of whether you will ACT on it.
There may be genetic link to alcholism. My father-in-law was thirty five years dry when he died, and fought the desire to drink every day of his life. Oddly, I never once said to him “Hey, it’s OK, God MADE you an alcoholic. You can’t possibly be able to prevent it. Here, let me buy you a beer!”
In my own inarticulate way, that was what I was trying to say. Thank you for saying it like I wish I had.
i dont think blogpimping is a choice it is more like a moth to the flame
It’s a perverted obsession with sex, like Rape.
If they are born that way, then it can be cured, perhaps genetic therapy. Or they can be identified and aborted. Ironically.
Personally I think “Same Sex Attraction” is a partly due to exposure to hormones while the brain is developing. Whether or not one acts on it is what makes a person “gay” or not. For instance someone can have a biological attraction to males who is male. But that doesn’t mean they actually have to act upon it.
I think that in the future there could be therapies involving reactivating certain brain cells to “reset” the part of the brain that handles sexual attraction and it may be possible to remove the tendency towards same sex attraction from someone’s brain. I think the milder cases can be cured using conventional “gay conversion therapy” as the brain is able to re-wire itself, but not it seems hit or miss.
There could also be cases where someone is attracted sexually to “everything” and those people usually end up being all sorts of perverted....
Let’s hope so, cuz I don’t wanna be forced to be gay
I find it funny that Promiscuous Male homosexuals have higher health risks than obese people, and yet Nanny Bloomberg hasn’t done anything to stop the rampant gay male sex in NYC that causes all sorts of STDs.
