We have not forgotten the 2007 McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill that was killed in the face of intense outrage from the American people. Since then, we have seen a communist administration, under Barack Obama (or whatever his name is), assume power in the United States, and among the myriad of impeachable crimes and malfeasance of his administration, we have seen an explosion of lawlessness from the feds in regard to the illegal alien invasion of our country.
This administration has engaged in criminal conduct by granting amnesty through presidential edict to certain illegal aliens. It has refused to police and secure our border. It has spit on the rule of our immigration laws. It has refused to deport illegal aliens when they have been caught. It has released jailed criminal aliens onto the streets, claiming it was necessary because of sequester budget cuts; however, as all of the ridiculous Democrat sequester charades were meant to do, this was just designed to gin up anger at Republicans who support lower federal government spending.
If we were outraged back in 2007 at the McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill, we are now outraged to the hundredth power at the latest attempt by Congress to shove amnesty for illegal aliens down our throats.
Even worse, we have lately been hearing radio ads (with corresponding television spots) featuring Congressman Paul Ryan and Senator Marco Rubio who are touting Senate Bill 744, which is euphemistically titled, Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act.
I know Im not the only one who is incensed at hearing these radio ads aired during Rush Limbaughs show and possibly other national conservative talk radio shows, although I have only noticed them prominently featured in heavy rotation on Rushs network. The organization that created the spots is called, Americans for a Conservative Direction, and its board of directors includes Haley Barbour, our former Republican Governor here inMississippi. Thanks a lot, Gov. Barbournot!
From the groups home page is this statement:
Our country has a broken immigration system and a broken border, both of which present huge obstacles to the businesses, job creators, and legal immigrants who have played by the rules and will help continue to grow our economy. Its well past time for Congress to get to work on real solutions to secure our border, hold those who have broken our laws accountable, and improve our legal immigration system to meet our countrys needs and boost Americas competitiveness in a global economy.
These are lies. Our country does not have a broken immigration system. It has a lawless administration that refuses to enforce existing immigration and visa laws and a strong border. This is not brain surgery. There is no need for another mammoth 844-page, outrageously expensive piece of legislation ostensibly designed to fix what isnt broken. We already have real solutions to secure the border. The problem is that our criminal administration in Washington wont employ them.
The claims in a television version of the conservative amnesty ads featuring Rubio were roundly debunked by the Center for Immigration Studies.
Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told CNS News that this monster bill destroys the rule of law. At least we have a few Republican voices out there that are not in lockstep with Republicans like Ryan and Rubio who are trying to peddle snake oil amnesty to the American people by pounding us with these fake conservative ads that insult our intelligence by declaring this disastrous amnesty bill to be a very good thing for our country, when it is no such thing.
From the CNS News column:
King and other House Republicans said on Monday that they offered another viewpoint from Republicans who believe amnesty is necessary for the GOP following the 2012 election. He said the bill is being stampeded without enough scrutiny.
The people on the other side of the aisle, they want amnesty for a number of reasons, the biggest one its a big political boost for them, King said. I dont understand why Republicans think its a good idea, but somehow theyve bought into this idea.
He also said the bill is a terrible idea from an economic perspective. At no stage in their lives does the universe of those who would receive amnesty make a net financial contribution to this country, King said. At no stage. Not a single year.
A member of the House Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security, King cited the Heritage Foundations recent report by Robert Rector and Jason Richwine that found granting amnesty to illegal immigrants would add $6.3 trillion to the federal deficit and $9.4 trillion in government benefits to the newly minted citizens.
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has also warned that the bill gives Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano virtually unlimited discretion to waiver prohibitions on obtaining legal status, such as criminal activity or previous deportation.
The big question I would pose out there is, why? King said. Why is that 844-page bill, why is it good for America and Americans?
I cant get that answer on why its good for us, he said.
We are simply in a re-run picture of Amnestyville Horror, only this time many more Republicans are stupidly going along with it, very much against the will of the American people.
And to further rub our faces in this un-American, third world invasion nonsense, the so-called conservative Haley Barbour amnesty group is flooding Rush Limbaughs show with these moronic Ryan-Rubio ads. Rush is certainly free to take advertising money from whoever he wishes, but I wish he would reject these stinking spots. Weve been sick of hearing them since we heard the very first one.
Message to Ryan and Rubio from the majority of the American people: Take your fake conservative support for amnesty, stick it in your pipe, and smoke it, because we werent buying it back in 2007, and were certainly not buying it now.
Oh, I'll take “virtual amnesty” over actual amnesty.
Unless the great unwashed can come up with more campaign cash than the oligarchs who want cheap immigrant labor, Rubio and Ryan will be fine.
Yea, they’re running the ads here in Houston locally. I think the Suckerberg guy from Facebook is paying for them.
But the ads are so bad, I’m not sure if they’re effective.
This is why I never put any politicians up on a pedestal. They always fall off.
This stupid commercial comes on non-stop on the Rush and Hannity shows. send them emails telling them .who is Behan this lying bs? and then there's fox news radio also liberal news on Rush every 30 minutes. I stopped watching tv to not have to listen to socialist/democrat propaganda i try to listen to Rush and then its’ fox news and this bs ad.
Then I suppose simple logic falls into that same category according to your standards. How dare you to slander the voters, especially the conservative ones, with your 20/20 hindsight analysis.
We had a simple choice, either the GOPe, NRSC chosen idol of Charlie Crist, or a newcomer with state legislative leadership experience espousing a message that was right on target for conservatives and Tea Partiers alike. He kept that message all through his tough uphill fight against the GOPe and right up to his interview with Rush Limbaugh before his last one which was a total debacle.
Do you honestly think (key word here) there are not thousands of Floridians who were pissed when he flipped? We are and the results are showing and I have serious doubts he will win the next primary when looking at the loses he is attaining with voters here. He has even lost 5% of the Hispanics and that was from last month!
So, are you a Floridian?.
BS. Rubio is solid on most issues. He just stinks on immigration.
GOP: Party as usual.
They don’t need ‘conservatives’, they thought they have ‘replacement base’ in this deal.
Anybody still think they can trust democrats and ‘bipartisan’ anything should be dead to conservatives.
Yes, they are blatantly lying on this one. Zuckerberg fronts ‘Americans for a Conservative Direction’. I am also wondering if there is Soros money there, too. It will fool some of the low-information voters. I had the smarts to look up the organization.
“Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?”
NONE of these people will answer the simplest question: “So what do you do with the illegals who do NOT jump through all your hoops? Deport them?” If not, how do you enforce? If so, why not now?
we have enough people. all immigration must be ended now. we have no jobs nor opportunity for Americans much less to import hundreds of millions more 3rd world trash to turn the USA into a socialist hell hole
“BS. Rubio is solid on most issues.”
Charles Manson is an artist.
Hitler was a vegetarian.
And Winston Smith learned to love Big Brother George Soros.
(Soros owns Rubio).
Totally agree. I am furious with those ads. Obviously misleading.
Rubio is a traitor and IS NOT the candidate TEA PARTY members thought they were sending to Washington. Rush Limbaugh is dead wrong in his support of Rubio
We had a similar problem around here with Tom Davis in the House. The Republican legislature finally caved and tossed in enough Democrats that it wouldn't be worth him running again, and now we have a Democrat district ~ a PERMANENT ONE! Used to be competitive but that's all gone.
As long as Davis' "friends on the other side" had Tom to vote for they'd vote the rest of the ballot Republican as well. So, he was a RINO ~ nothing new about those guys, but if you don't have replacement voters, getting rid of a RINO can destroy a vote to organize the House, or the Senate, or the state legislature, or the county council, or the city council, or....... the soil and water conservation board.
These are arguments for dismissal, not new legislation.
Well written article, and I think the above sentence focuses on support for amnesty not being a conservative position. I agree with that.
I do think, however, that Rubio is a conservative. I think Ryan is a bit of a moderate.
When everything is laid out, though, the one thing in the ad that I agree with is that doing nothing means we're stuck with what we now have, and what we now have is uncontrolled illegal entry, illegal access to tons of taxpayer paid social services, and a national security plan that is a joke.
How would I fix it?
First, I'd put tariffs on every nation that is the source of illegal immigrants.
Next, I'd cancel the American income tax and incorporate a straight sales tax.
Finally, I'd build an identical copy of the fence that separates Israel from its enemies.
Anything less that the fence is a joke. The sales tax takes away a huge chunk of the ability to dodge taxes and responsibilities by both illegal immigrant and those that hire them. The tariffs provide incentives for the source of illegals to consider aiding in the control of their own people.
