“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat, credible or otherwise, that the US government is going to take their firearms.
And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood [in] the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”
This is not a question they are comfortable with, if only because the intent of their saber-rattling was to imply they would fight to keep their weapons, and win.
Nice fantasy. It’s not happening.
If the federal government decides to disarm the public, and when the increasingly-militarized rolls down your street after a not-so-subtle request that you kindly turn over your firearms and ammunition “for the common good,” it will be nothing less than suicide by cop to do anything other than what you are told.
The militarization of US police forces is ongoing and escalating. Many cities and towns now own tanks, armed personnel carriers, even attack helicopters, and almost all are outfitted with military weapons not available to the general public.
And, it is not just your hometown cops who are getting new boy-toys. The military itself is buying up weaponry not just for use in the current or next scheduled war, but to deal with the likes of you, ..

This just pitted the feds against the "rest of us". It's already an us vs them thing with LEO and all the alphabet agencies that are Spec Op wannabees.
The real way of fighting this is having patriots in the agencies and operator communities. There may be some fratricide and THAT will be the MOST effective deterrent. Not open fratricide but even informational fratricide ... ambush, booby traps etc.
It's gonna get ugly, but I never expected to die crapping in my pants , lying in a bed all alone while someone rolls me over and bathes me.

Uncle Sam spent lots of money training me to fight guerilla tactics. Evade and hit, rinse, repeat. Also my time as an LEO taught me their system as well.
Also target the heads of the snake, Chiefs, Captains, etc...
My kids are all grown and the last two are close to being out. They were raised as strong patriots (all boys were in Corps in actual combat billets) and would be standing with me. If not I am ready as there would be nothing left to enjoy in the country anyway.
Look for folks to simply hide their guns.
Step one is to make sure most of your purchases are untracable. Step 2 is once word gets out that they are doing this store almost everything (especially everything they don’t know about) off site, sans paper trail. Step 3 “sold it”, maybe turn something they know about over just to let them feel good.
Same here. I would rather die defending myself from evil than surrender my right to live to them. Most people do not truly grasp what evil men and women will do to you free of all restraints. If we lose this battle now, evil will prevail and believe me you will wish you were dead when you experience life under their boot.
I suggest you check your sights, the are a little low IMO, why shoot a tough to eat crow when a fat tasty turkey is a few miles away? The game ends when one side gets enough points for the other side to concede defeat. How much effort would it take to get 100 one point crows instead of one 100 point fat turkeys or fat hogs feeding at the trough?
As with all hunting preplanning is invaluable, study your target, learn what they look like, learn where they live, socialize and eat. Be able to identify those you want to hunt to eat and those not worth your time or that pose no harm, do that now before they scurry for cover. Do you want a fat turkey or a skinny crow to dine on? I imagine once open season is declared, all tyrannical prey/predators will be up for grabs with any and all available weapons, make the most of your resources.

If they were dumb enough to do that, while they were attacking OUR families we would be attacking THEIRS. Ain’t going to happen.
That is why you would have to play like you are on their side - if they knock on your door - and you are there to answer.

Today’s society is not different than it was in the 1800s, the same principles apply, the only difference is that many are incapable of having the fortitude required of the past, and, yet, they are the ones asking for the 16 or 1400s.
Check it out. Give it to them, GIVE THEM THE 1400s, the earlier, the better. They wont make it, and not the technology of government in the world will allow them to ever make it. This is because character is unique, depressioni is unique, even in the best circumstances, to take them appart.
