I listened with interest yesterday as representatives of several leading Muslim advocacy organizations here in the United States issued statements in which they condemned the murder of our U.S. diplomats in Libya.
“We are outraged and shocked by the killings,” said Nihad Awad, National Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
His outrage and shock was echoed by representatives of the Islamic Circle of North America, Muslim American Society-Public Affairs and Civic Engagement, the Council of Muslim Organizations of the Greater Washington, D.C. Area, Libyan Emergency Task Force and Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center.
Well, I’m grateful that these Muslim organizations condemned the attack upon our Libyan consulate and its inhabitants. But I found their platitudes insufficient.
Because I believe it takes more than mere words for Muslim leaders – for the entire Muslim-American community, for that matter – to demonstrate solidarity with those of us who desire comity with Muslims, but who continue to be reminded of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks against this country.
So words won’t do. America’s non-Muslim population is looking for tangible deeds that prove Muslim-Americans are truly with us.
Indeed, Imam Talal Eid, Islamic chaplain at Brandeis University criticized fellow Muslims for not doing enough against terrorism.
“The leaders of American Muslims should initiate a big demonstration,” he said, “to show that Muslims take the issue of terrorism seriously, otherwise people will ask what are those Muslims doing.”
Muslim Americans,” he said, “never initiated a big demonstration against terrorism and people of their own faith who commit these crimes.”
The American Islamic Congress, which wasn’t among the Muslim organizations that participated in yesterday’s news conference, agrees with Imam Eid.
“We could, as a community,” said Nasser Weddady, AIC’s civil rights outreach director, “take to the streets and protest” continuing Islamist attacks upon America.
How about Muslim-American protests outside the Libyan, Egyptian and Yemeni embassies in Washington?
Or how about a Million Muslim March on the mall in the Nation’s Capital, with Muslim leaders declaring their fealty to the United States and declaring that America’s enemies are their enemies – including those invoking “the prophet” and using the Koran to justify their acts of terror.
There are no moderate muslims. They all recieve the same teachings, but not all act on those teachings.
We are infidels (or Jews) in the eys of all muslims.

First, according to the Koran it is the duty of all “good” Muslims to advance the one true faith by any means possible.
Second, all “good” Muslims are encouraged to assassinate any Muslim leader who is not actively advancing the “true Muslim” faith.
The second statement allows any Muslim cleric to justify and order the assassination of any cleric teaching a form of Islam even slightly different than his. This is something the Christian faith hasn't seen since the 15th or 16th century - 500 to 600 years ago.
Even if I did see a mass protest by muslims living in America, I would still believe that they empathize with terrorists. According to their koran, they are encouraged to lie.
I trust no muslim.

They are standing up for their country, that is why they came here. It certainly wasn’t to become an American. Their silence is their standing.
Hey, at least they are not celebrating in the streets yet.
Three different muslim families have moved onto my street, one across the street. It seems that they are gone all day and come home late late at night.

I don’t want to be a bigot or even hateful, I’m a catholic christian and we are to love our neighbors, but I can’t help but be suspicious of them and not want them here. I’m sorry Lord.

No question about it.....the only moderate muslim is one that doesn’t understand his own “religion”. I hesitate with “religion” as it is really an ideology.
There lies the problem: Time and time again, Muslim Americans sit quietly as their “Bros” attack America and everything she stands for. At the very least, American Muslim clerics and civic leaders should stand tall and shout, “We support America first.” Even if they are appalled by the film that allegedly prompted the latest attacks (a film that very few American and foreign Muslims — or anyone else for that matter — has ever heard of until three days ago), they should be screaming from the tops of thier lungs that “Even though we are offended by the film, as Americans we will defend that right to free expression to our deaths.”

In my old neighborhood, I knew a family from Iran - all muslims. I did not know them well, but they were always friendly, their children seemed happy, the wife did not wear a burka, but did wear a scarf when outside.
I held no animosity towards them at all. But trust them? Not on my life!

Saudi Americans stand up for Saudi, Iraqi-Americans stand up for Iraq, Egyptian Americans stand up for Egypt, etc.
There are no American-Muslims; only Americans.
