-- That's all I can say about it, but I'm not very good at talking to Mom about it. --

Just you let her be unhinged. Sometimes, the way this world and humans interact, faith (and even reason) just fly out the window for a spell. Just let mom know you love her, and that you feel serious emotional pain (not the same as hers, of course) too.

My mom told me, more than a few times, when things seemed mighty dark (but really, things were not so bad), "it'll work out." Anyway, you don't have to talk to Mom about it. Just savor the time. Make it as pleasant as you can. Run simple chores, make coffee, smile and cry, and just be you. Don't try to fix or reason the situation, just be "in" it, in your way. Tell your mom you love her.

I can't imagine the feelings I would or will have when I am in your shoes, losing a sibling. Or in your mother's shoes, losing a child. But I do know that parts of our selves are outside of our own control. Never mind trying to comfort our mothers!

OiLine Rebel, prayers for your sister, Barb, and your whole family. May He grant you and you family the patience, wisdom, and courage to face his will for Barb. Hold your Mom close now. She is not supposed to lose a child.

Thank you! If I could ask a favor (I have never posted a notice here on Free Republic) would you please start a thread to notify others of the death of Waco. He was very active here up until May of this year when he entered the hospital. He was an Air Force veteran (74 yrs young) & very conservative, indeed we need our conservatives now more than ever before!
Thanks again!

I lost my younger Sister almost a year ago to ovarian cancer. She was only 46 years old. We had about 6 months to do and say the things that needed to be said. There was a lot of crying and reminiscing going on.

I simply cannot imagine the pain and anguish a cancer victim goes through. It is a testament to the strength and sheer willpower of the human spirit that they can still smile and even laugh, knowing what they know and feeling what they feel.

My advice is this - in the time you have left, tell her how much you love her. If your religious, make sure she knows and has accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and take pictures, lots of pictures and even video. You will cherish them for the rest of your days.

My Sissy is gone, but not ever to be forgotten. You can do the same.

God Bless.

- Kevin

You have my prayers and deep empathy. My sister passed away from cancer less than two years ago. In retrospect, I see how lovingly she prepared us. We grieved her from the day we learned of her diagnosis, easing, in a way, our grieving process at the end of her time here on earth. Her loving nature is with us always. She is with us every day in many ways, and it is a comfort. May God bless all of you at this difficult time.
