Marco Rubio endorses Mitt Romney (RINO Spring migration continues)

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio endorsed Mitt Romney for president Tuesday night on Sean Hannity's show on Fox News.

"I am gonna endorse Mitt Romney. He offers such a start contrast to the president's record," the senator said.

"I have zero doubt in my mind: No. 1 that he will govern as a conservative, and No. 2 that he will be head and shoulders above the president in the White House right now."

On rumors he's on the short list to be vice president, Rubio said,"I don't believe I'm going to be asked ... that's not what I want."

“When are we going to learn that the Republican party is no longer conservative, if indeed it ever really was?
We need a new party, a truly conservative party. Let the Republican party wither and die on the vine.”

There is a viable third party, isn't there? The Constitution Party. Why can't the true red-blooded Americans just switch and go from there? We could start with all the good people the GOP alienated and the floodgates of support would open.

I agree, btw, with your assessment of the situation. We want our country back and there's only two ways to get it done. A strong third party NOW is one way.

You’re entitled to your opinion, of course, but I doubt I’m the only one. I am leaning toward skipping the PA primary and the general election. If I do, j refuse to feel guilty when Obama wins. If you want to assign blame, put on the Republican party for saddling us with a liberal candidate. And maybe we are all to blame for allowing the party hierarchy to pick our candidate.

Being stupid, ignorant and lazy, is no way to go through life Kid!

If Obama wins again, it's GAME OVER. He pulls missiles out of Eastern Europe, Obamacare becomes permanent, Marxism prevails and it will herald the end of term limits on the Presidency.

Because if Obama wins, the Democrats also take the house back and gain even more seats in the Senate. But you can sure refuse to feel guilty, since all you do is complain while you sit in your bunker and do nothing.

One by one, each new endorsement suddenly these politicians and people that were loved on FR become mortal enemies. Marco Rubio, Ted Nugent, Jim Demint, etc. At what point to we face the fact that they are not our enemies and that they realize how vital it is to our country that we get Hussein out. At what point does everyone become an enemy here on FR? Does FR become a pro-obama site because we hate Romney more than obama? I just cannot play that game... I can’t.

It’s ridiculous to even consider Obama as an alternative.

No offense, but it’s absurd.

I’m certainly no fan of Mittens, but I detest obama with every fiber of my being. He must go.

I don’t think anyone on here is “excited” to vote for Romney, I just think many are realizing he’s going to be the nominee and it’s between him and a known Marxist that wants to sell us out to Russia and the Muslims. I do not believe Mittens will do that.

He had to govern left in his state, come on. Perhaps if he is elected, he will no longer have to appease his liberal base in Massachusetts and he will move to the right.

I still hold out some hope that some change of events occurs that gives us a candidate we can really be enthusiastic about, but as time passes, I’m losing hope.

Not voting for Romney does not mean I am voting for Obama.

In an exclusive interview with The Daily Caller, Sen. Rubio revealed that President Obama’s recent “open mic” gaffe with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev sparked his endorsement of Mitt Romney for president Wednesday night.

“It’s been weighing on my mind all week,” he said.

“I’ve never thought about this as a political calculation,” Rubio said of his endorsement. “I’m just sitting back here and watching a president that just got back from overseas — where he told the Russian president to work with him and give him space so he can be more flexible if he gets re-elected.”

“The stakes are so high. We’re not running against John F. Kennedy here,” he said.

“We have to win this election in November. We have to!” he averred. “If we don’t win this election in November — and we get four more years of Barack Obama — I don’t know what that means … But I know it ain’t good.”

It is our own fault, as even the conservatives here can’t help but trash either Gingrich or Santorum, on a daily basis.

And you think it will be much different in the unlikely event Romney wins? Take death care for example. The Supremes might strike down the mandate, although that’s not set in stone. If Romney wins, don’t expect the rest of death care to be repealed.

BTW, thank you for your assessment of me. However, calling me lazy, stupid and fat does nothing to bolster your argument on this subject. If you expect to get a ruse out of me by calljng me names, you’re mistaken. However, if if makes you feel like a man, go ahead.

I think Marco is a good conservative. I KNOW he is and I think that he knows obama has to go.

Rubio is a supporter of primaries, but said that it had become clear the only way for Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum to win the nomination at this point would be to take the fight to Tampa. And Rubio insists that a brokered convention is “a recipe for losing in November.”

“It sounds like a lot of fun,” he cautioned, “until you examine what it would actually mean.”

Rubio also told TheDC he is not concerned his endorsement might cast him as part of the Republican establishment. Instead, Rubio insisted that “the way that I need to be defined and the way that I need to be judged is on my record as a policy maker. How do I vote on the issues? What are the issues that I speak out on? What positions do I take?” he said.

Regarding possibly damaging his conservative credentials, Rubio said, “I don’t think supporting Mitt Romney undermines that in any way.”

Still, it seems clear Rubio’s endorsement has more to do with defeating Obama than it has to do with loving Romney.

Rush plays a bit on 24/7 where Dingy Harry shoots himself in the foot and then proclaims that “he’s not worried he has another.”
You remind me of that bit.
