From the somewhat guilt filled comforts of Greece, I have been thinking about what I learned from the recent Cairo SHTF experience. I am not putting myself forth as an expert of any sort and, frankly, many or even most items on the list below might be flat out wrong
.who the hell knows. We were in Cairo from Jan 25th until late Feb 3rd when the neighborhood gunfire became full-auto and regularly occurring. At that point, we decided that Friday prayers (the next day) might not yield a pleasant experience. We had no way of knowing that we had already seen the worst.

Our cows shared his and our land, when my cows got pregnant by his bull he sent me a bill saying my cows ate his hay and that I owed him $400, or I have to give him a calf.
He got nothing. Tried to work out some kind of deal but he said no to everything. The calves are mine and he’s pissed. His way or the highway, oh well.

http://youtu.be/k051rbF85l4 Panic in Year Zero (1962) Must see SHTF film for the family. Starring and directed by Ray Milland.
Dated film, but still has some important lessons relevant for a current emergency scenario.
No. Number ONE should be the absolutely sure-fire method: "Don't EVER go to Egypt."
Bttt...
I worked hard to drop the foul language I used to use - I normally say "stuff" instead of "sh*t".
(I suprised a customer in Aberdeen the other day when I used the word "damn" in a phone conversation - he said it was the first time he ever heard me use foul language...!)
I can testify to the points about neighbors. I posted during the London riots about neighbors banding together to look out for their own.
Yeah, unless you’re embassy staff,
why the h% would a white American guy be doing in
ANY Arab/Muslim country?
The solution for you is simple: Just don’t read the articles. I ask you again why would you read something that has content that you know you will find offensive and then complain about it?
Me I take the view that my Pastor takes. He tells that many a time he has saved a person that has lead a rough and un-Christian life and after they come forward to alter call or after a Baptism he has asked them how do you feel? And more than a few times the answer has come back: “I feel Da#$ GOOD!” He still counts them as a win, though obviously still diamonds in the rough.
Excellent post, Kart. Thank you.
The problem (see his points #3 and #5) is when TSHTF before you notice that it's about to hit the fan. Lot's of people didn't expect the Rodney King riots in LA, or the Crown Heights riots in Brooklyn until they actually happened, and then it's kinda late. Also, TSHTF as a result of natural events leaving little or no time to prepare or evacuate ahead of time.
Thanks Lurker. To bad others didn’t think so.
To be fair, you should try to his bull pregnant
To be fair, you should try to get his bull pregnant
LOL
The solution for you is very easy, write like an adult, to adults.
The adult thing for you to do is to quit trying to dirty up the language like an insecure teenager or a good liberal .
You also can lay off telling freepers to stay off your thread.
There is absolutely no reason to deliberately dirty up your writings, our lives, to deliberately introduce filthy language, the survivalist movement got along fine without it for many decades. We didn’t have to wade through this in the 1960s, 1970s, and the 1980s of our survivalist movement.
It isn’t hip, or sophisticated, it is childish, and beneath grown ups.
Thanks for the support, suddenly even our conservative survivalist movement is being contaminated with, even saturated with (look at post #1) liberal corrosive language, that the young have been indoctrinated with.
You're the one on this thread that keeps spelling out the whole word.
What do you think this site's owner means when he types FUBO or FUMR? Huh?
thanks ,,,, I pickup little bit and piece of info. from these postings ,,,The language doesn’t offend me ,,I just read around them, all of us let a word slip sometimes ,
So I am suppost to edit the articles I am posting? I don’t write them.I just post the link so that people that are interested can read and get the knowledge from them.
I say the adult thing for you to do is to NOT read the post.
