The feds continue to target medical marijuana dispensaries which otherwise are operating in accordance with state law.
In Colorado federal prosecutors gave 23 dispensaries which are operating within 1,000 feet of a school 45 days to shut down or face criminal prosecution as reported by John Ingold for The Denver Post.
They issued an identical ultimatum to medical marijuana dispensaries in California last October.
The threats are not idle.
The feds yesterday filed suit "to seize the building of a Sacramento dispensary, charging the marijuana store violated federal laws against drug transactions near schools" as reported by Peter Hecht for The Sacramento Bee, and on Wednesday DEA agents raided three dispensaries in San Diego as reported by Tony Shin for NBC: "landlords who rent to pot shops were warned to evict their tenants or face prosecution and lose their property."

I saw that they could do this in Article VIII of the US constitution.
Still think you live in a free country?
I realize this is pot, but if they can do this to medical marijuana, they can do it to anyone.
That would be in the penumbra?
“That would be in the penumbra? “
Ah, so you speak French too?
This is absurd, having conflicting state and federal laws on marijuana. Unfortunately, I don’t see a solution short of Congress acting.
How bout a medical firearms prescription?
You just cannot get any dumber than the DEA.
They just raided three here in San Diego.
Medical MJ is a bullshite law. Just legalize it completely at the federal level and let the states decide.
And which party would put it up for a vote?
I don’t think I have a dog in this fight, but maybe I’m just not prescient enough. I’m for States Rights. I think some criminals tied to Obama, and that’s a big number, feel threatened by the legal M so he’s going after his friends enemies. Plain and simple.
Abusive crap like this is why I am for the decriminalization of all drugs. It would be far cheaper to treat drug addicts than to incarcerate them, it would defund criminal enterprises in the US, and would take away a HUGE amount of power from the federal governments.
P.S. Ron Paul isn’t completely crazy.
Heaven forbid if a pot club--which requires a membership to even enter--sets up shop with a few blocks of a school.
I know who would like to.
There is no such thing as medical grade marijuana. The stuff people grow in the federal forests or in their own back yards or find in the desert, are the same thing. And I’m tired of the liars who say otherwise.
The feds sure do love to go around seizing property don’t they?
How about we seize our govt back?
